December 31 (Sun) Sunny

The last day of general waste collection this year, the cleaning was completed without incident and we spent the day quietly.

It has been 16 years since the Tsukugama kiln was opened in 2008, and we are grateful to the kiln for the 62 ceramic firings it has held.

Thank you for joining us at Michikusa this past year. Let's meet again here next year.

December 30th (Monday) Sunny

It was cloudy in the morning, but I was relieved, and by 10 o'clock the warm sunshine came out, making for a pleasant day.

First thing in the morning, I went to a large shopping center that is popular among young people. There are also stores specializing in clothing shopping, so I often go there.

"Sir, this section is for women only..." What an idiot! I knew that very well!

I was a little upset by the thoughtless attitude of the salesperson. Can I wear men's socks that are 25-27 cm? I have no choice but to come to the women's section, where they only sell socks in sizes 23-25 ??cm.

Well, for me, whether it's for men or women is not an issue. Am I a man? Well, I certainly was in the past.

That's why I bought pants and other things in the men's section, but half of the clothes we can share are more comfortable here.

The grocery store was crowded even though it was still early. I thought I would buy some New Year's food for one person and leave early, but when I got to the exit, I saw New Year's decorations. What?! 200 yen is cheap!

I bought it right away and put it on display in my pottery kiln. I hope that next year I'll be able to create a piece that I'm happy with.

December 29th (Sun) Sunny

It was a colder morning. The wind wasn't too strong, but it was still a bone-chilling morning.

I really want to finish pruning the garden trees around this date, so I'll go out even though it's cold!

Well, I know that, but I move my body to gather the cut branches and leaves and press them into the homemade press box. Then I press them by stepping on them with my feet. My body gradually started to get warmer.

First, tighten the strings on both ends, then take it out of the box and tighten the strings around the middle, then tighten the strings on both ends again... and it's complete.

Although it is just a collection of branches and leaves, we will compress and press the bundles so each one will weigh about 10 kg.

Seven bundles have been completed. All that's left is to take them out on the final garbage collection day, the day after tomorrow.

The garden is neat and tidy, and it looks like we will be able to have a pleasant New Year.

December 28th (Saturday) Sunny

Today, reports of heavy snowfall are being broadcast on television in northern Japan and Hokuriku.

In contrast, the Kanto region was blessed with a calm, clear winter sky today, although the temperature was low.

Last week, I had just finished a big job at my house, which was to connect a rainwater pipe under the flower bed at the entrance to the rainwater drainage pipe on the private road.

However, when I'm at home, there are many places that I can see, so I felt like cutting down the first star of the eyes and putting it out on garbage day yesterday.

The second star is the golden osmanthus, which has not been pruned for a while and is growing out of control. It is also starting to block some of the precious winter sunlight in the mornings.

It has grown to the point where it can be called a large tree, but I have managed to trim it down.

The garden is filled with cut osmanthus branches and leaves.

I can quickly cut them into pieces and pack them in the wooden box I made for packing branches and leaves. I'll do my best to make it to the last day to take out the trash, Tuesday the 31st.

December 27th (Friday) Sunny

According to the weather forecast, the winter pressure pattern will strengthen today... but it was a calm morning in the Kanto region.

The waste from the plants I pruned yesterday was collected together with the household waste this morning.

Well, I would like to continue pruning the large garden tree, the golden osmanthus, but I have taken a break.

I think this osmanthus tree grows every year and spreads its branches and leaves, but I thought the sunlight this winter morning might be a little late, so I measured the sunlight.

That's right. I hadn't noticed it because I had left it alone for a while, but it was taking longer for the winter sun to reach the living room.

I guess I have to cut it to 1m...2m no matter what.

I'll just have to rely on my energy tomorrow or the day after.

It was a calm day on my evening walk, but it looks like the north wind will get stronger from tomorrow.

December 25th (Wednesday) Sunny

There is a path from the entrance to the backyard, and various trees are growing there, turning it into a mini forest.

Yes, all the trees here have grown naturally, probably sprouting from bird droppings.

I left the parts that didn't get in the way of the passage and deleted the ones that sprouted in the way, and before I knew it, a passage had been created.

Today is the third day of the Sunday civil engineering work, and we have completed construction of the rainwater drainage channel under the flower bed.

The most difficult part of the work was yesterday to run the drainage pipe under the concrete walkway, but today we just need to run the drainage pipe under the flower bed and connect it.

Using an L-shaped joint and an L-joint whose base is freely movable, the drainage pipe was somehow able to be connected to the conventional rainwater drain.

It was done surprisingly quickly, so I went to the florist before lunch and bought some flowers to add some color to the front door this winter and planted them.

I'm just happy that it was completed before the New Year.

December 24th (Tuesday) Sunny

The work involves creating a rainwater drainage channel by running scaffolding pipes under the playground and connecting it to the existing drainage hole.

The turning part of the playground made of concrete is 120 cm wide. We are going to drive the scaffolding pipe through it to guide the rainwater.

Since yesterday, we have been pushing and pounding the pipe, but after some time, it won't move even when we try to pull it out. We managed to break through by towing it with a car.

This is what is called tunnel excavation, and although the direction was correct, there was a difference in the height.

Here, it was necessary to make a crank joint in a small space.

For this joint, I used two elbows to try to fit it together as close as possible.

The original piping was firmly in the ground and did not budge. So I assembled the parts according to the dimensions and gave them a hammer to apply a little impact without destroying them, and they fit perfectly.

I don't want to do this kind of work again. But I think it was a good experience for me at my age.

December 23rd (Monday) Sunny

In the past two weeks, all the flowers in the flower beds have been destroyed. They have become a field of weeds, but I was able to enjoy the atmosphere for a while.

Today I cleared the flower bed. Two days ago, moles started showing up here and there, so I have to drive in some "pepper stakes".

This pepper stake is a plastic stake with peppers kneaded into it. Moles, with their highly developed sense of smell, will be unable to resist it and will retreat... or so we hope.

In the summer of that year, the main sewerage work in our house was completed and we were able to live comfortably.

However, the drainage system from our house, which contains both rainwater and household wastewater, ran under the flower bed. In order to carry out the full-scale construction, we had to completely remove the flower bed.

I was hesitant to destroy the flower bed that I had worked so hard to cultivate just for construction work.

In winter, I will create a rainwater drain myself, so please change the existing drain to a sewer.

Today, I started my Sunday civil engineering work by digging a rainwater drainage channel under the flower bed.

I don't know if I'll be able to finish it by the end of the year, but I'd like to continue without forcing myself.

December 21st (Saturday) Sunny

It seems that today's winter solstice was a more bearable day with more sunlight.

I made a reservation for the coronavirus vaccine and the flu vaccine today, so I got vaccinated.

I've been vaccinated before, but I had some aftereffects from COVID, so I decided to spend the day being a grown-up.

I peeled some ginkgo nuts that I received from a friend at the ski club and fried them in oil. Delicious.

It seems that a vice that tightens the flesh is better than a hammer, pliers, etc. to peel the fruit.

Ginkgo snacks... a seasonal treat in early winter.

December 20th (Friday) Sunny

It's sunny and the sunshine is shining, but it's not warm at all.

Tomorrow is the winter solstice. When I think about it, I wonder where the crazy heat of that summer went. I feel nostalgic.

The sunny weather allowed us to hang out our futons every day and enjoy a warm, deep sleep.

But today, even if you hang out your futon, you can't expect it to be warm.

The sunlight is still as bright as if we were in a Nordic country, but it is lonely and lacking in warmth.

Lately, my walking time has been 3pm, but as I walk up the hill from the Minuma irrigation canal and see the farmer's fields, the sunlight is finally reaching me.

The view from the fourth corner of the walking path is a lonely, barren winter landscape.

December 19th (Thursday) Cloudy then sunny

It was cloudy and there was no sunlight in the morning. On the news, it seemed that the first snow had been observed in various parts of the Kanto region.

I was a little surprised because I thought it would be sunny and clear from the morning.

The weather forecast said it would clear up around 9 o'clock, but the sun finally came out late, around 10 o'clock.

I quickly got changed and started moving the firewood I had brought home in the trailer to the drying storage shelf. I moved the firewood that was piled up in a wheelbarrow to the drying storage shelf, and then some of it, because I was going to use it for firing my pottery kiln.

They are also piled up next to the kiln to promote drying.

I was able to store exactly the amount I had calculated, and this marked the end of a year of making firewood.

December 18th (Wednesday) Sunny

I couldn't upload Michikusa yesterday because my mobile PC suddenly rebelled.

When I got home today and investigated further, I found that various things were wrong with the updates and update menus on my old computer.

The mobile computer was a cheap Dell product, weighed 1300g, and was Wi7, but after repeated updates it was now self-proclaimed Wi10. I dealt with it after I got home and it was fixed.

Based on past experience, the replacement period was 5 years. This one was already 6 years old, so I was thinking of replacing it with a new model if I couldn't fix it, but I decided to keep using it.

This morning, I pulled the trailer loaded with firewood and headed home. The charcoal kiln was done, the fire pit was sealed, and it seems to be cooling quietly now. I thanked everyone for this year and headed home.

I said hello and said I'd like to ask for your help again next spring.

December 17th (Tuesday) Sunny

I use a cheap DELL computer for mobile use, and whenever I go out, it has a habit of causing problems.

Based on my experience, I'll probably have to give up on the 6th year or strip her naked again and make her change her clothes...?

Anyway, this is a day late, but I went to pick up some firewood from a charcoal burner in Katashina Village.

We immediately removed the rain cover and started loading the items.

We finished loading early, so we took a relaxing bath in Hanasaki Onsen and spent the night in the car at a roadside station.

At the roadside station, I bumped into a fellow club member who had been skiing hard every day! I told him I was taking a break this season and we parted ways.

December 16th (Monday) Sunny

I went to the cancer center for a meeting in preparation for next week.

My treatment is purely preventive, but the hospital asked me to postpone it for a little while.

I agreed because the schedule was a little too busy for me.

I'm a little happy inside, but I gave it to someone who needed it urgently...

December 15th (Sun) Sunny

The wind has calmed down and the Kanto region is experiencing mild, Indian summer weather (although officially, it can no longer be called Indian summer weather on the calendar).

For some time now, the smoke exhaust system for wood stoves has been gradually becoming less efficient, and I have had doubts about it.

I have been cleaning the indoor smoke exhaust system myself from time to time. However, this year, the smoke exhaust system has suddenly become less smooth.

Perhaps the external chimney riser has not been cleaned for many years, and I was not able to manipulate the curve of the riser with the tools I had.

Ask a professional to replace the curve from the interior to the exterior with a gentler elbow.

Now it's possible to clean the chimney from inside the room to the top of the chimney.

When I checked the roof, it was in pretty good condition.

December 14th (Saturday) Sunny

The temperature in my neighborhood dropped below freezing this morning. The north wind will make the temperature even lower today.

There are farmers nearby and the farmland is extensive, but at this time of year there was frost every morning.

Nowadays, communication between friends is done almost exclusively by e-mail.

I have a cousin who is three years younger than me, and I have never paid any attention to electronic communication. Therefore, I have only ever communicated with her through letters.

Her husband passed away after caring for him, so she should be enjoying a comfortable life now. However, this year, the winter weather is getting stronger and it is snowing every day for her in the Hokuriku region, so it looks like it will be a tough winter.

It was a letter of complaint. For the first time in a while, I wrote a letter of encouragement and dropped it in the post. It cost 110 yen...but the stamps I managed to find after digging through my desk drawers were a bit over the limit...(lol)

You are not the only one who will endure this harsh winter. I am also fighting cancer this winter, but let's do our best until the warm spring sunshine arrives.

December 13th (Friday) Cloudy

The winter north wind has died down, but the bone-chilling cold remains.

Every day was a record low for the first time this year... Finally, even in Saitama, the morning was below freezing, and the daytime temperature was below 10 degrees.

I think it's amazing when I'm at home during this time and receive comments from friends about spending time at the ski resorts.

In fact, if you look at the live camera footage from the ski resort, you can see people skiing enthusiastically in a dark valley covered in black clouds where the sunlight doesn't reach.

That's right. It looks like madness from the outside. I think that's what they mean. Well, it's just as cold today in the Kanto region, so maybe it's 50 or 100.

It's getting close to evening and time for a walk, but for me, this slight chill is the best feeling. If it were cooler, my body would react and generate heat, but that's not possible.

The walking path turns the fourth corner and goes uphill, approaching my house. I can see far into the distance, but the cold is biting my bones. But by this point, my body has warmed up.

I don't really like baths, but today I'm going to take a nice long bath after my walk and listen to the live broadcast of the National Diet Budget Meeting on the radio.

December 12th (Thursday) Sunny

I guess I can say I'm a regular at this cancer center now.

Here, the road conditions for cars are also shown, and if you take that road today there are no traffic restrictions... etc.

I wonder how many times I've been to Saitama Cancer Center since I started going there. It's 19.3km away from my house by car, which is about an hour's drive.

I've been going since October 4th, so I've been going for 4 days before the surgery, 4 times since December, and 6 times before I'm hospitalized towards the end of the year.

Well, I think that cancer treatment is also a financial consideration, but if there is not enough time, the wishes of the doctor and the patient will not match.

I have chosen chemotherapy for the treatment, but this still comes with significant time constraints.

Unfortunately, my wife's body was not able to withstand this schedule. I'm going to try to see if I can make it through.

Today I went for a CT scan, one week before my hospitalization procedure.

December 11th (Wed) Sunny

Due to suspicion of esophageal cancer, I was hospitalized at the Saitama Cancer Center for a week and underwent surgery to remove the mucosal layer of my esophagus.

The cancer was stage I, so the surgery was successful and I was released.

After I was discharged from the hospital, my doctor told me that the success rate is 80%, and most patients do not experience recurrence and are able to live comfortably into old age.

I asked about the remaining 20% ??of symptoms. If you are still in your 40s or 50s, I recommend two cases to finish you off.

The first is chemotherapy, and the second is a total esophagectomy. I don't want to go that far with your condition... I said.

I lost my wife to cancer when I was 65. Now I am taking steps to ensure I have no regrets.

The surgeon I visited today about the two cancer treatment methods. He said that he thinks your body can withstand the surgery, but that "You will lose your stomach, and it will probably take more than five years to get your food intake back to normal.

That's right, I only had half of my stomach to begin with. Still, chemotherapy is the answer to ensure a perfect and regrettable procedure.

I'll do my best.

December 10th (Tuesday) Sunny

The cold has subsided and the weather is calm and sunny. Although the temperature is low, the sunlight feels warm.

I've been painting in the living room rather than in my studio on the second floor for a while now, so I guess it can't be helped.

Well, I don't think it matters where you paint a picture, let alone pottery.

So before I knew it, I had an easel made of a stepladder in a corner of the living room, and I can now easily continue painting between meals or when I'm reading a book.

Once I got used to that scene, I started to think it was a natural way of being.

For a while now, the sun has been setting at its earliest time of the year.

If I don't leave home by 3 o'clock, I'll be unsteady on my feet by the time I get there.

It was another clear, calm winter day in the Kanto region today.

December 9th (Monday) Sunny

Based on what I did at the Cancer Center on Friday, today I will be listening to a talk by a specialist in scientific therapy.

And the specialist said that I should also listen to the story about the complete surgical removal of the esophagus.

First of all, the endoscopic submucosal dissection was a success. This means that patients over 80 years old can now live out the rest of their lives... and that's the end of it.

On top of that, when considering each patient's attitude towards life, or their future life, there is a 20% chance that the disease will spread to the lower lymph nodes.

You have to decide for yourself about that. One is scientific therapy, and the other is a complete reoperation to cut and reconnect the esophagus.

At this stage, the second surgical procedure will result in a near-perfect recovery. The first scientific therapy (radiation and anticancer drugs) has many side effects and is not suitable for the elderly.

Well, this is the biggest gamble of my life.

I went home today after requesting to hear the opinion of a surgeon within this week.

Skiing aside, I am thinking about taking my painting and pottery a step further in my life, so I don't want to think about whether this operation will be a success in the next five years of my life.

December 8th (Sun) Sunny

Even though it's winter season, the Kanto region is sunny and warm. Occasionally, the sunlight is interrupted by stray snow clouds from the north.

I can't keep going like this either. I have to go to the mountains next week. I'll be skiing for the first time, but I also have to take down the firewood.

There is still the second half of the Kawaguchi City Table Tennis Federation team competition next week, but for me, this will be the last club table tennis practice of the year.

The ski resorts have opened, so I have to work hard at skiing as planned. I'm sad to miss table tennis, but it can't be helped.

I sent a message to the table tennis club members on LINE saying that I would bring some of my pottery junk today, so please feel free to take home as much as you like, with no limit per person.

I arrived at the sports center a little early and spread it out right away.

I was very grateful that most of the supplies had already been distributed to everyone before practice began.

Then I went looking for them again after practice and almost everything was gone.

December 7th (Saturday) Sunny

The wind direction has changed and it seems to have gotten a little colder. The northerly wind will make the temperature feel even lower.

The ski resorts have been open since yesterday, but when I look at the live camera today, it's amazing!!

That's right, when I saw the live camera of the ski resort, I felt that there was no way I could ski in such a crowded place.

I don't have that many injuries at ski resorts, but I have been injured at ski resorts twice. And all of these happened at a time when the ski resorts had not yet fully opened.

This is probably the time when your body and ability to react quickly are weak, making you most susceptible to injury.

I avoid going to the ski resorts during this time of year because of the young people who only have the weekends off.

I plan to go out on weekdays next week, but first... yes, there is work to be done, and I have to bring in firewood.

I think the spring firewood is completely dry, I wonder what's going on.

The maple tree in my garden is expected to turn a beautiful autumn color this year.

Although it is not shown in the photo, perhaps he was motivated by praising the autumn leaves of the Japanese wax tree next to him.

December 6th (Friday) Sunny

It has been one month since I had surgery at Saitama Cancer Center for suspected esophageal cancer. Today is my checkup.

I came to consult with him after he reported on my progress after the surgery and gave me some comments on how I should proceed from now on.

I was able to receive explanations of the process before and after the surgery with many images. In conclusion, would you be willing to accept that there is an 80% chance of recurrence in the future?

However, in the remaining 20% ??or so, we would recommend further radiation therapy in the event that symptoms similar to metastasis occur despite our judgment that there may be no metastasis.

According to the doctor, considering your age of 82, we would not proceed with any further treatment, but considering your physical strength and your achievements, I thought it might be worth considering. I have asked the specialist to explain about radiation therapy.

The doctor said that he could not provide the raw data to the patient, but that there was no problem in taking images with the camera, so I took the treatment data with the camera.

The surgery will now be performed on the area circled.

An image of the cancerous tissue that was neatly removed.

The image was vivid, showing the cancerous cell layer that was removed, measuring about 20x20mm.

However, I thought it was amazing that the cut surface healed on its own without the need for a bandage or any medication.

December 5th (Thursday) Sunny

It's been a little warmer recently, but the temperature in the mornings and evenings is still quite cold.

The trees in the garden are also turning red, with the leaves of the magnolia tree turning yellow and the hazel tree turning bright red.

This photo shows the garden from the balcony on the third floor. Soon the brown leaves on the left - the Iroha maple - will turn red.

However, this newcomer, the hazel tree, now seems to have taken the lead role as if it owns the place.

Just three years ago, it suddenly sprouted in the corner of the garden, and in the autumn of its first year, what happened...? .

The leaves turned red as new seeds that I had never known existed grew. They probably sprouted from seeds that were in bird droppings and grew.

However, it has grown well and is already 3m tall in just its third year. If it rains at all, it cannot stand on its own and falls over miserably.

What should I do? The autumn leaves are nice, but a tree height of 3m doesn't fit into the design of my garden. Once the leaves have finished changing color, I'll cut it down to 150cm at most!

December 4th (Wednesday) Sunny

What's going on? It feels like the morning temperature is relatively warm for this time of year.

However, it seems to be quite cold at night, almost like winter. The leaves on the trees in the garden have turned red and are very beautiful.

I've been putting off pruning the trees in my garden for a while now. Until now, I've pruned them early and pushed the leaves into the trash without even having a chance to enjoy their autumn colors.

Although it was uncertain when the ski resorts would open, I felt that the autumn leaves on the trees in my garden were quite beautiful.

I think the best viewing time will probably be this week. I think I'll be able to show off the autumn leaves in my garden in a few days, before I head to the ski resort.

We are finally planning to go skiing next week, and we will also be able to transport firewood.

The sun came out this morning and the temperature rose thankfully.

I guess this will be the last pool of the season, but thank you for the past year.

December 3rd (Tuesday) Sunny

The morning temperature was a little milder today. I also had a report from a radio friend that it was only 1 degree warmer than this time yesterday.

t may not be so obvious yet that even a slight difference in temperature can make your body feel a little different.

Today I went to the local clinic... to see my doctor.

I have to visit the doctor at least once every two months to receive advice on health management and other matters, and also to get a prescription for treatment for high blood pressure.

I come here once every two months, but this will be my last appointment this year. The doctor also encouraged me to do my best and not get injured while skiing.

We have been experiencing sunny and calm days every day.

I hung out my futon in the sun today, so I think I'll be able to sleep well and warmly.

December 2nd (Monday) Sunny

The temperature has been dropping steadily recently, and it feels like we are moving from autumn to winter.

The scenery along the Minuma Waterway, where I walk, is also becoming more colorful, and it feels like autumn colors are really deepening.

Back in the day... 50 years ago, the Minuma East Waterway still had the feel of being hand-dug, just like when it was first opened, but now it has been replaced by a waterway surrounded by concrete.

However, its function as an irrigation canal has remained unchanged since the Edo period, and it is a popular waterfront path for walks.

As autumn deepens, water transportation is no longer used and there is no running water, so the quiet waterways act as a mirror reflecting the autumn colors, creating a sense of elegance.

When the winter sun shines on my living room, the sunlight reaches every corner of the room, and it's now the time of year when I can get by in just short-sleeved underwear on days like this.

And the leaves on the trees in the garden are turning red and showing off beautiful colors.

Even so, Momiji, you should try a little harder.

December 1st (Sun) Sunny

I have table tennis practice this morning, but I'm having trouble leaving the house. There's a city marathon and I can't get there in time.

However, if you leave 30 minutes before, you can get to the sports center without being affected by traffic restrictions.

Today, we had 8 ping pong tables all to ourselves. That means we had 16 members.

And luckily, there were no other table tennis enthusiasts by the time the venue opened at 9:00, so there was no lottery and everything went as planned.

However, I felt a little sorry for the badminton team next door, as some of the players had lost the lottery and had to wait for two hours.

Even so, after the basic practice session, we had a practice match, but we were unable to play against everyone.

For me personally, this week and next week will be my last club practice. Yes, there is the last team match and the ski resort is opening so I have to go there too.

So I was able to practice playing seriously.

November 30th (Saturday) Sunny

It's been a while since I last set an alarm clock... It was Saturday. I woke up just before 7am with the light of the morning sun filtering through the gaps in the curtains.

Even so, I was surprised that I managed to sleep for a little over 10 hours. The temperature is a little low today.

I think that this is the time of year when we should be skiing at the ski resorts, but the ski resorts are not able to make artificial snow.

But I think that's okay! The only thing I still have to do this year is the table tennis team tournament (12/22).

So even if the ski resorts open, you'll still need to continue your club table tennis practice until then, and ski in between.

Until last year, I had lights on in front of my entrance.

I knew that almost no one would come to my house to see it, so I turned it on. I thought that was fine, but I felt a little lonely because I didn't see it.

I installed one layer on the balcony of my house this year. ...Hmm, isn't it good?

November 29th (Friday) Sunny

It's sunny, but it's not very cold. Perhaps the winter pressure pattern is weak.

The sunlight is gentle and it is a soothing early winter season for the elderly.

After breakfast, the sun was shining and warm, so I decided to go to the flower shop today.

Nowadays, florists provide helpful explanations that are easy for even amateurs to understand, such as the flowering season, which flowers bloom best in the cold, etc.

Today I bought eight stock plants and replanted them in separate pots. They are cold-resistant and will be a delight to look at in the coming harsh season.

The sun sets earlier these days, so I thought I should go for a walk around 3 o'clock. But then, even though it was a sunny day, a sudden rain shower started, but it stopped soon after.

Nothing happened during my evening walk, but a table tennis friend who lives in Kawaguchi and is a Facebook friend posted a touching article about it.

The suspicious clouds we saw were actually a rainbow at the place where our friend lives underneath.

November 28th (Thursday) Sunny

It's a very warm morning. But it's not so warm that we don't need to turn on the air conditioner.

Yesterday, I swam for the first time in a while. I did a relaxed swimming stroke, bobbing up and down, but this morning my body hurts.

If you wake up in the morning and your body hurts, you have no choice but to accept that yesterday's sports activity was a little stimulating for your body.

Just like with my daily walks, unlike table tennis, I have to take care of my body by myself, and although I can get discouraged at times, I recognize that it is something that I absolutely must do.

Here's an email from the ski resort: "We were aiming to open this weekend, but we won't be able to make it in time." They'll probably open next week. But even here, it's important to keep doing your basic training alone for a while.

It seems that the live cameras at the ski resorts are also doing a good job.

Starting today, the earliest sunset time in the Tokyo area will be 4:29am, and will continue until December 7th, after which it will gradually get later.

Nowadays, if I don't start my daily walk around 3 o'clock, it gets cold. I long for the silhouette in the long shade.

November 27th (Wed) Sunny

The weather forecast said it would be warm today, and I knew the temperature would be higher than usual this morning.

But today's plan is to go to the pool and swim, so I'm hesitant to go because it's cold.

Due to my hospital stay and other things that happened afterwards, I had no plans to go to the pool for a while.

So it's hot autumn...? Since then, I haven't been able to go to the pool for a while until the early winter season, and I finally managed to make today's plan.

The sun was shining and it was warm enough for me to get in the pool.

Looking at my diary, it seems that this was my first time at the pool since October 9th.

November 26th (Tuesday) Sunny then cloudy

It was sunny in the morning and it looked like the weather would continue like yesterday. However, the forecast is going downhill, so I wonder how it will turn out...?

Well, I was planning to change the tires on my car in the morning as planned.

I changed to winter studless tires.

The jack-up is now electric, which should make the job easier, but the weight of the tires I have to handle gets to me more and more every year.

Although the work procedures have definitely improved, I still feel a sense of relief after finishing the work. I even went to the supermarket to buy groceries while I was still in the break-in period.

And I tested each nut for knocking sound... there was no abnormal low tone. Everything was OK.

I went for a walk along the Minuma Irrigation Canal before it got too cold. I came across a new facility that I had never seen before. Oh, it's a facility that rents out bicycles.

Next time my friend comes to visit, I think it would be nice to ride this bike and take a stroll along the Minuma Irrigation Channel.

November 25th (Monday) Sunny

In the long run, we are certainly seeing cooler mornings and it does seem like we are heading towards winter.

But to put it simply, 10 years ago I was already heading to the ski resort and probably skiing on the slopes today.

With the rising temperatures, it seems that the skiing season in this country is long gone.

Still, I've decided that my skiing life will last until the end of the life of my current car, so I think it would be great if I can continue for another three years.

Although enthusiasm is waning a little, waxing skis is still a great thing to do on these warm days.

The temperature dropped in the morning, but the best time for sunlight at this time of year is only one hour, between 9:30 and 10:30.

Ski wax itself is now being used in the interest of environmental conservation, and the ingredients in it are subject to much more regulation than before in terms of their health effects on the human body.

Although it is a little difficult to use, it is the trend to follow the specifications that are appropriate for the times.

November 24th (Sun) Sunny

Yesterday was my first club table tennis practice in a long time, and it was also my first real exercise since being discharged from the hospital after surgery, so I was a bit nervous.

There was a rule that after discharge, extreme sports were prohibited, but this seems to be one of those things.

I'm sure I'll still have some muscle pain today, so I didn't set an alarm to get a good night's sleep and get some rest. I slept for 9 hours.

I wasn't in such a bad condition that I couldn't move because my body was in such bad shape. But I still can't relax. I might not be able to tell how tired I was until two days later.

There are no reports of symptoms after exercise in older celebrities, so I must write one instead.

The temperature was low, like that of an early winter morning. However, the north wind died down as the sun came out, giving us a feeling of mild, Indian summer weather.

I'm starting to feel like it's time to incorporate my countless ceramic works into my end-of-life items.

I made a lot of coffee cups, but they were all just practice pieces, and I filled them with soil and arranged them in the hope that they would turn into blooming moss pink cups in the spring.

November 23rd (Saturday) Sunny

The temperature had been crisp since the morning. Today was my first club table tennis practice day in a long time.

I was hospitalized for surgery this month, so maybe it's been a while, or maybe it's the first time.

My teammates, who met me in the lobby of the sports center before practice, were also very considerate of me after I was discharged from the hospital.

Yes, thanks to you all, I was able to return to work without any problems. I don't think I've done anything particularly amazing... That's all I can say.

During that time, I walked as much as I could and did radio calisthenics every day without fail. I suddenly had to practice table tennis, but my body remembered the steps and I was able to move around quite well.

However, things change a little when practice matches begin. The gap in game play cannot be hidden, and the results do not improve even when the opponent changes.

In any case, there will be a team tournament in Kawaguchi City's Table Tennis Federation next month. Well, I hope to practice hard so that I won't have any regrets.

November 22nd (Friday) Sunny

The weather forecast says it will be sunny and warm today. I put the laundry in the washing machine before dinner.

The week ended with a pleasant conversation with my radio buddy over breakfast.

After cleaning up after breakfast, I hung out the laundry that was already done in the sun... and then hung out the futon in the bedroom in the sun as well.

I'm sure you will be able to smell the sun and have a comfortable sleep tonight.

According to one theory, the smell I get when I hang out my futon and go to bed is the source of that nostalgic, restful sleep... it's the smell of dead mites and the like... but I don't really want to believe it.

The weather forecast said that the seasonal winds would get a little stronger later, so I went out for a walk early today.

The sunset and warm, pleasant day comes to an end.

November 21st (Thursday) Rain

I have acknowledged that my physical strength is declining year by year. This fall, I am concerned about my declining physical strength and will be facing the challenge of getting shingles vaccinated.

The procedure is that you can get vaccinated with a city subsidy, and if you are already over 50 years old, you are eligible.

I don't really want to be aware of it, but I think it's inevitable these days.

After I was discharged from the cancer center, I immediately asked my local clinic about it, and they told me that I could get a discount on the vaccination, subject to the city's screening.

When I returned from my trip to Osaka, I received a vaccination ticket from the city.

I went to the clinic and got the vaccination right away. I was told that if I get this vaccination, I can't get any other vaccinations for a month.

It looks like I'll be able to get my flu and coronavirus vaccinations by the end of the year.

November 20th (Wednesday) Sunny

A hotel with a natural hot spring on par with a business hotel in the downtown area of ??Osaka...I really liked it.

Thanks to this, I was able to sleep soundly and made it to breakfast just after 8:30, 30 minutes before the time for breakfast.

However, the breakfast buffet at the business hotel is almost completely sold out by the time you arrive... damn it!

I was planning to take a bus from the hotel to Osaka Castle today. The castle itself is made of reinforced concrete and I'm not that interested in it.

The castle and the surrounding park boast a size and style that is second to none.

By the way, yesterday there was a slight northerly wind, so we had to dress warmly. However, this morning there was no wind and it was a sunny day. We enjoyed sketching in the shade of a few trees... all the foreigners were very interested.

This photo was taken by a foreigner using my camera. The angle is pretty impressive.

"Please take your photo..." "OK! OK!" "Take a photo of me with this too on Twitter." "OK! OK!"

International friendship even in Japan.

 November 19th (Tuesday) Sunny

Apart from the downtown area of ??Osaka, I went to a place I had always wanted to visit.

It looked like summer was going to be hot forever... but it looks like winter is coming soon, so now is the time! ...No, it's today!!

The Shinkansen was crowded as usual. I could only get a seat in the middle of the three-row seating.

Still, I arrived at Tokyo Station early and lined up for the unreserved seats, and I was able to sit by the window in the second row of seats. I wish they'd stop sitting in the middle of the third row, so it might be against the rules, but I was right to go to the unreserved seats.

Actually, this was my first time in Osaka city, and I only knew the general location of the city from north to south and east to west before I left. Anyway, my goal today was to get to the wrong place twice, but it wasn't a problem.

I spent more than two hours at Expo Memorial Park. It was quiet and I enjoyed sketching alone, but I wonder if they can continue to operate like this... I'm worried about the future.

We arrived at the lodging we had booked at 3:30, so it was a pretty good start.

Well, tonight's lodging is in Yodoyabashi, one subway station away from Umeda. I'll relax at the natural hot spring, "Kanonoi."

Yes, I'll experience Umeda when I'm feeling better.

 November 18th (Monday) Sunny

It was supposed to be sunny, but what happened? It seems that it rained a little in the morning, and the weather is not stable.

Today was the first time I woke up using my alarm since being discharged from the hospital. I woke up at 5:45, just like before.

Until now, I usually woke up naturally and then started doing things, but then I would end up sleeping until around 7 o'clock.

I go to bed at 9 o'clock, so that means I've been sleeping for 10 hours. That's not good... If I'm healthy, I should go back to sleeping 8 hours.

And my main purpose is to read the newspaper, do some radio exercises, prepare breakfast, turn on the radio at 7:10, and talk with my radio friends while eating breakfast.

In order to carry out this pattern, I have to get up at 5:45.

I have to say that from today onwards, I will be chewing my food slowly and thoroughly, so I might be a little late in taking the microphone.

After noon, the sun came out and the wind started to blow from the north, but it was a peaceful walk with a beautiful sunset.

 November 17th (Sun) Sunny

At the end of my diary yesterday, I wrote that the alcohol I drank was delicious, and my table tennis friends immediately came together to celebrate my recovery.

I still can't stand the carbonation of beer.

It was the first time we had a relaxed drinking party since we took a boat trip to Oshima with these friends in September.

Well, during that time, we always met at the club table tennis practice, but it was the first time we had seen each other in two weeks because I was hospitalized for surgery, but the conversation with a little alcohol was special.

Everyone has gotten older, and even though I am the oldest, everyone is only about two years older than me, and is over 80 years old.

How should I live out my life in table tennis from now on? The answer is the same for everyone: I want to have fun and be involved regardless of whether I win or lose.

But what happened to this warmth...?

The weather forecast says it will be winter from tonight...is that true?

November 16th (Saturday) Cloudy

It's been another weekend without any clear skies lately.

I added a little more water to the rice for breakfast this morning, but it was finally solid rice.

Since I was able to eat after the surgery, the only meal I had was porridge. I had been eating porridge since I was discharged from the hospital and until yesterday while I was recuperating. Of course, the side dishes were just juice that I couldn't taste.

Starting this morning, I will finally start eating solid rice, but with a lot of liquid. I will also bite off the rice with my teeth, on the condition that I chew it well and swallow it.

It took a while, but if you eat it like this, your stomach will start to feel full, which is bad.

Well, it may be too early to eat in 10 minutes like before, but from now on, it may be necessary to take about 20 minutes at most to eat your food properly.

Although I am a little late, I have sent my request to enter this year's ski competition to the ski club office.

This year, I will devote myself to participating in tournaments, not to winning, but to enjoying the tournament.

November 15th (Friday) Rainy/Cloudy

The temperature didn't drop much, but it's been raining since morning and it's depressing.

The rain stopped, but the sun didn't come out and the temperature remained low for the rest of the day.

Every morning after breakfast, I access my homepage to check the status. For example, I remember writing about Michikusa last night, but I don't remember if I uploaded it or not.

On the main page, there is an access counter that counts the number of people who have visited the website since its launch. This morning, the number exceeded 240,000.

I was reminded once again that about 30 people are watching over my wandering life every day.

I would like to continue exploring my world in a relaxed and natural way. I hope you will continue to support me in the future.

I am currently recovering at home after my surgery for esophageal cancer, and the last thing I should avoid when it comes to food is coffee. Today, I'm going to experimentally lift the ban from there at my own discretion. It's been a while since I've had coffee...it's delicious!!

November 14th (Thursday) Sunny/Cloudy

It was sunny in the morning and the temperature rose. It has been very warm for several days, so the flowers in the flower beds are in full bloom.

At this rate, it seems we're still a long way from being able to ski.

This tree grew naturally behind the parking space for my car, but it no longer needed to shade my tires, so I trimmed the branches to make it neater.

It's still a while before I change to winter tires, but the trees have provided shade during the summer and protected the tires from the sun.

The branches and leaves of this tree grow very quickly, and I remember having to cut them down once during the summer.

Tomorrow is the day for ordinary households to take out their trash. Today's work was in line with that.

November 13th (Wed) Sunny

It's just that the weather has changed for this season, but it's been a long time since we've seen it, and it's a great achievement!

The washing machine is already running so that the laundry can be hung out as soon as breakfast is over.

Early discharge from the cancer center hospital... does not mean that the progress is going as well as expected. From the hospital's current perspective, patients who no longer need treatment should continue to recuperate at home.

So, all the treatment from the hospital side for me has been completed... Therefore, I will give you some dietary advice, so please follow it when you return home.

Normally, I prepare breakfast in about 20 minutes. But then I have to remix it myself in the blender so that it doesn't put too much strain on my esophagus, so it takes about an hour.

Yes, I also eat rice as porridge. I will continue to eat like this for the rest of this week.

The other day I was sleeping with my summer futon and autumn futon stacked on top of each other, but after I was discharged from the hospital and returned home, I changed to my winter futon. Now, I can just remove the cover and wash the autumn futon, but I want to wash the summer futon completely.

When I searched for nearby coin laundries, I found that there were many. I decided to wash my clothes there. Actually, this was my first time using a coin laundry, and even though I wanted to ask someone, there was no one there. But I did it! .

November 12th (Tuesday) Sunny

This is a new tree in my garden, but it has started to turn red before its predecessors. It seems to have sprouted from bird droppings three years ago, and has grown this big in just three years.

After researching the characteristics of the leaf shape, we decided on the "Haze tree". However, if it grows so quickly, we will have to think about what to do with it in the future.

In the first autumn, the leaves turned a more beautiful red than those of the Iroha maple, so I decided to leave it, but it grew 1m a year and became so unsightly that it could not stand on its own after it rained.

The upper leaves are still green, but once the autumn leaves have turned red, they will be cut back to less than half their original size.

I feel that my physical strength has weakened and I can't regain the confidence I once had. That's why I decided to get the shingles vaccination now, even though it's a little late.

In Kawaguchi City, you must first notify the city of your intention to do so before you can receive assistance.

You will receive the approval document in about 10 days, and then you will be vaccinated. You will not be able to receive the coronavirus vaccination until two weeks later. Then, you will be scheduled for the flu vaccine at the end of the year.

November 11th (Monday) Cloudy

From today I will officially be stepping out into the world as a normal member of society, but until now my identity within the hospital has been identified by the tape on my wrist.

As for my physical condition, the discomfort I still feel when eating through my esophagus suggests that the wound is still there.

Actually, I also have a slight muscular discomfort on the left side of my body, from the waist down.

The endoscopic removal of the esophagus took about two hours, and I was made to sleep for those two hours in the same position as when I had the gastroscopy examination.

The lump hasn't healed yet. I have to drag my feet a little on the way home.

First, pay the hospital bills.

I took a local bus back to the hospital.

November 10th (Sunday) Rainy/Cloudy

I probably slept for 12 hours, although I did wake up a few times to go to the bathroom.

What if you enjoy sleeping so much even when you're not particularly tired?

Sleep as much as you want and have meals served to you...

I wonder if it's okay to spend the whole day reading a book in the comfortable temperature of the air conditioner...? .

No way. After finishing lunch and clearing the dishes, I was about to go to my usual floor when someone called me back.

Kozaburo-san, you will be discharged from the hospital tomorrow. Congratulations.

What?! I'm not prepared to be told this out of the blue. It's only been four days since my surgery.

I told my neighbor and the newspaper guy that it would take a week.

November 9th (Saturday) Sunny

Breakfast at the hospital doesn't start until almost 8am, even though I've been up and waiting for it for two hours already.

I hadn't had anything to eat except water and tea for two whole days, so I was really looking forward to it.

This is a four-person room, so even when I couldn't eat, the smell was unbearable and relentlessly assaulted me.

Since everyone in the room eats a fair amount from today onwards, I ate five-minute porridge without worrying about anything.

All the side dishes are also mashed with a grater. It's hard to tell what kind of vegetables you have without feeling them.

Now, I'm going to spend the boring time reading a Japanese book.

I brought lots of things so I think I'll be able to immerse myself to my heart's content.

November 7-8 (Thurs-Fri) Sunny

Yesterday, the scheduled endoscopic removal surgery for the inappropriate mucosa of the upper esophagus was successfully completed and morning came.

I'm not in any pain and my temperature is within the normal range, so I'm allowed to drink water and tea from this morning.

However, he is still in the early stages and will not be able to eat porridge or other foods until tomorrow, so we need to be patient a little longer.

By the way, at the Saitama Cancer Center, it goes without saying that everyone in my four-person room is a cancer patient.

This cancer center has 500 beds. It is surprising that all of them are cancer patients.

Although they usually live without any problems, it is clear that all four of them discovered the problem early and took action.

So everyone is relatively cheerful.

November 5th (Tuesday) Cloudy

Tomorrow I will finally be hospitalized for my first cancer surgery.

I've said this here before so it shouldn't come as a surprise to you.

It has been an issue for the past 10 years, and gastroscopy during health checkups has pointed out areas in the upper part of the esophagus that are not amenable to staining.

I have been keeping a close eye on it every year, but at the time of my examination this year, the doctor in charge said, "I'm going to make a decision soon..." so for the re-examination, instead of going through the nose, he anesthetized a thick one and inserted it for observation.

Even after doing all that, the doctor said, "I don't know!" I'll write you a referral to the Saitama Cancer Center, so please ask the specialist there for their opinion.

Is this what they call passing the buck? In the end, it's not causing any harm, but I decided to have endoscopic surgery and remove it now... and that's how I got to where I am today.

Before that, I will be taking a PCR test for coronavirus early in the morning. I really want to say hello to the izakayas in Ageo, but I'll have to hold back.

November 4th (Monday) Sunny

The mornings are quite chilly and autumn is deepening. An old house on the walking path is being demolished.

The exposed beams and pillars give the building a truly first-class feel.

I will never forget this old house. It is the home of the landowner who bought the land here and decided to live here 50 years ago. It is an old local house.

It is a fine house on my usual walking path, but I don't know why it was demolished. I can somehow feel the passage of time.

Looking over the site, the storehouse and work shed that were on the large site are no longer there, and all that remains is the main house... Well, the impressive gate is still there, but what will become of it?

This was a fallen tree that was blocking the walking path until recently, and it was difficult to remove.

Today the signboard indicating the path was closed was gone, so I wondered if it had been removed.

November 3rd (Sun) Sunny

I woke up at 5:45 as scheduled and thought to myself, "Oh, it's not that bad weather..."

However, as time passed, the sky became completely clear, and it was a special sunny day for Culture Day.

Today was supposed to be a club table tennis practice day at the sports center. However, the sports centers around the city are in the middle of the regional qualifying rounds for the city sports tournament.

As a result, our table tennis club had no practice field and today was a holiday without table tennis.

In any case, I was in the self-restraint period one week before my hospitalization, so I couldn't participate, but the weather seemed to suggest that I would really want to go out.

The sale of pottery works was held for a limited time of one week, and was called the Autumn Pottery Festival! However, it has now come to an end.

I filled an unsold coffee cup with soil and buried the stem of a moss pink planted on the cliff of a flower bed.

I hope that we will be able to have a magnificent display of moss pinks next spring.

November 2nd (Sat) Rain

Saturday is the day of the week when you can sleep in without setting an alarm.

I opened my eyes slightly and saw that it was already 6 o'clock, judging by the light coming through the gap in the curtains.

No way, it was already past 7:30...oh no, did I sleep for 10 hours?

I hurriedly got up and went to the living room, but I didn't feel any different. I was just hungry!

As usual, I did the radio exercises that I had saved in my data, and my morning ritual ended, and the day started two hours late.

However, the rain will probably continue for a whole day.

I bought a book yesterday, and once I start reading it, I can't stop, but I ended up reading about two-fifths of it.

A day to relax is nice, isn't it?

November 1st (Friday) Sunny/Cloudy

Today marks the beginning of November. I have just announced the update of this website on Facebook and in each LINE group.

The clear skies were only visible in the morning, but the clouds gradually started to thicken. It looks like it's going to rain tomorrow...

I have an e-reader that I always read on, but after reading today's novel, the inside of the reader became empty.

If I want to go to a bookstore to find a new book, I have to take a bus to a bookstore in the downtown area near Kawaguchi Station. If I want to find three books I want to read at the bookstore, it will take me about 1 to 2 hours.

It was 14 years ago that I started relying on online bookstores. When I started reading and reached my 100th book, the book I had finished was just rubbish for me... or rather, it was completely meaningless. I put it in a mandarin orange box and took it to a second-hand bookstore to get rid of it.

Today I bought new books online, downloaded them, and transferred them to the reader. Since I will be hospitalized soon, I searched for and purchased 10 books, which is a little more than I would like to buy. It took about an hour, and I paid by credit card.

Until recently, this online bookstore was not compatible with the new Windows 11 and could only operate up to Wi7. My mobile PC was Wi7, so I made do with that for a while.

Bookstores have been working hard and are finally compatible with Wi11.

October 31st (Friday) Sunny

It's been a while since we've had such a pleasant sunny morning.

oday marks the end of October and tomorrow marks the beginning of November.

I am also scheduled for cancer surgery one week in advance. I cannot be hospitalized during surgery while suffering from various infectious diseases such as the current coronavirus and influenza.

The first day of living a quiet life of self-restraint and avoiding contact with the outside world has begun.

In addition, there are a lot of documents to fill out, such as memorandums and certifications for hospitalization, and procedures to deal with various situations.

Since Shohei Otani transferred to the American major leagues, he has been doing so well that he has been broadcast live on Japanese television every day. I have been cheering for him and watching his games often.

In the fifth game of the match between the Dodgers, which Ohtani plays for, and the New York Yankees, the Dodgers won the first four games to be victorious, becoming the winners of the 2024 World Series.

I'm amazed and excited to see that fellow Japanese players have been the driving force behind the World Series, and I'd like to continue to support them.

October 30th (Wednesday) Rain, then sunny in the afternoon

It's been raining coldly since morning. Autumn rain is cold and depressing, so I hate it.

As the day drew to a close, the sun came out and the temperature rose and it became warmer.

What's more, there was a refreshing northerly breeze outside, and I couldn't help but feel happy.

After lunch, I pulled out my bike and there was no air in it. I frantically turned on the pump to inflate the tire and set off.

When I got off the train along the Minuma Irrigation Canal, I felt the warmth of the sunshine. It had been a long time since I had last seen such sunlight. I enjoyed cycling at a leisurely pace.

In the farmer's yard, the persimmon trees are brimming with fruit, bathed in the autumn sunshine.

Autumn is finally starting to feel so close, but can we just wait a little longer for winter to come?

October 29th (Tue) Cloudy and rainy

It was a gloomy day with occasional rain from the morning. And the temperature dropped even further around noon.

Finally, I lit the wood stove in my studio and enjoyed the first flames of the year.

I think that in normal years, we would have lit the stove earlier. But this year, the extremely hot days continued until late into the night, and the midsummer heat continued until just recently.

But it's just a few more days until November, so it's not that late.

Although I was able to benefit from the fire in my pottery, the timing meant that I often had to fire the pottery on hot days, which wasn't much fun.

The stove will be heating up nicely again this year. And my bedroom is on top of it... so it looks like I'll be sleeping warm tonight.

A sign on the walking path saying it was closed! . What happened? Oh no, a fallen tree. And the fence was also broken by the impact.

I'm not saying that nature should remain as it is, but I think that Satoyama needs to be cared for by humans to maintain a comfortable environment.

October 28th (Monday) Cloudy and rainy

Ski club badges have been used for a long time to identify club members on equipment and other items, and they have made quite an impact.

I've also had fun using it to stick on my skis, cars and even bicycles.

The design was good, and foreigners probably envied the Chinese characters written on the poles, but unfortunately, the poles with the badge were stolen from a ski resort in Switzerland.

Meanwhile, the topic of embroidered badges came up within the club. I immediately thought that if I could make them, I would like to sew them onto my clothes.

And it was realized. First of all, I tried putting the Japanese flag on the right shoulder, which can be appealing at overseas competitions, and the patch with the kanji on the left shoulder.

The dress had cushions and other things in key places, so it was difficult, but I managed to sew them on. It makes me want to fight. (lol)

I also tried attaching it to my jacket. It looked pretty good, so I tried attaching it to my other vest too, the color and size were just right.

October 26th (Saturday) Cloudy

It was cloudy all day, so the temperature didn't rise and it was a comfortable day.

I have already told my radio friends about my current ambitions, but I am steadily preparing for it.

Working outdoors while squatting is tough, so we had a sturdy workbench at home for that purpose.

I use it occasionally, but I usually just leave it outside. It was a little wobbly.

I wanted to strengthen the frame of the shoe a little so that it wouldn't wobble so much and make it work for my ambitions.

The location is in the blind spot of the driveway where my car is parked. There is a utility pole and its shadow is an annoying place anyway.

I'm planning to sell my fun-loving and accumulated ceramic works on this table outdoors, unmanned, at the direct sales price.

Yes, it's an unmanned vegetable stand run by a local farmer. It's set back from the road where everyone walks by.I think it's visible.

In addition, a friend of mine who is a radio buddy and a pastry chef sells famous sweets at low prices that are popular on TV... etc.

October 23rd (Wednesday) Cloudy and rainy

Last night we talked until late... I was exhausted at 10:30, but we still talked. I woke up slowly at 6:30 this morning. It was a refreshing and refreshing morning.

Since breakfast was scheduled for a little after 8am, I did some morning radio exercises and then we all went to the morning bath.

It was late, so we had the open-air bath all to ourselves and could relax and enjoy it.

Then we headed to breakfast, but there were still about 40 of us in the second group. Since the venue was large, we took our time eating.

We had a leisurely check-out time of 11:00, but we first explored the surrounding area. It seemed like the leaves had changed color overnight.

The suspension bridge over the Yunishi River was a beautiful day with clear skies.

I had thought about going around Lake Chuzenji and taking a walk around the area, but unfortunately it was cloudy and foggy, so I changed my plans and decided to head home after lunch.

I found out for the first time that there was a small parking lot halfway down the Irohazaka slope, and that there was a waterfall that could be seen from there.

The autumn leaves are at their peak around here, at an altitude of about 1200m, and the view of Hannya Falls from there was magnificent.

The journey home went smoothly and I arrived home just before 4 o'clock. Thank you everyone.

October 24th (Thursday) Sunny/Cloudy

I came here on a trip to Yunishigawa Onsen that I had planned with my skiing friends.

He said he would come to my house by car, so this trip will be easy.

We had lunch on the way and arrived at the hotel just after 3 o'clock. The autumn leaves around us were a little late.

The hotel lobby was wonderful and the rooms were great.

After enjoying the open-air hot springs, it's time for dinner. I decided to write an early diary entry today.

October 23rd (Wednesday) Cloudy and rainy

The temperature is expected to rise a little this morning. It won't be too hot, but there is a forecast of rain and the humidity is likely to be high.

Given the flow of work, I wanted to paint it again today and finish the renovation work.

Originally, this balcony was surrounded by railings. They were damaged, so the front part was removed, making it easier to use.

However, this handrail on the right hand side was very useful and was used until it decayed, so I restored it to its original shape.

The repairs to the areas between the boards have also been completed, so the carpentry work is complete.

I already prepared some water-based paint and was planning to finish it off today.

Unfortunately, it started raining intermittently from the afternoon onwards, so we will postpone it until another time.

October 22nd (Tuesday) Sunny

The temperature is a little warmer than yesterday. It's not cold enough to make you shiver, but it is still quite warm.

We started work on the balcony restoration work that has been ongoing since the morning.

Previously, we had used the material for important foundation work without preservative treatment, but this time we treated it with preservatives, reflecting on this experience.

And for the important surrounding framework, we used preservative-treated commercial products.

The strength of the balcony lasted for 15 years before, but I think it will last for 20 years from now.

Lately, I've been getting treatment from the dentist for the next 20 years... and this balcony is also going to last for the next 20 years...

I don't really think about my life expectancy.

October 21st (Monday) Sunny

It's been cold since the morning, with temperatures below 10 degrees. The temperature has become autumn-like.

Today is the day I went to Saitama Cancer Center and the results of the biopsy taken on the 11th will be evaluated.

This was already my third visit, so I arrived at the scheduled time and waited in the designated examination room.

I was called in right on time and was given the results of the test.

The biopsy results showed that the cancer had mutated and was at stage 1. The CT scan results showed no signs of metastasis.

The findings indicated that endoscopic surgery was necessary to remove the cancer layer.

The plan is to hospitalize the patient for about a week and then discharge him if there are no problems.

October 20th (Sun) Sunny

The autumn air is crisp and crisp. When the temperature drops below 20 degrees, your mind also becomes sharper.

I'm going to the Kawaguchi City Table Tennis Federation's Citizen Championship. I'm going by bus because I plan to drink on the way back.

This match is divided by age group, but there is no division for people in their 80s. Therefore, we will be fighting together with people in their 70s.

I participate in this tournament every year, but it gets tougher every year, and in recent years I've often come home with a complete loss.

However, recently I have decided to stop trying to win and focus on enjoying the game.

I was able to enjoy all the matches today.

Moreover, he also achieved the feat of snatching a win from a young player. He had a fun drink with his friends on the way home and returned in a good mood.

October 19th (Saturday) Cloudy

The weather today is a little ominous. It seems that the heat will be followed by cold spells at the same time.

Yes, as the sun came out around noon, I was hit by a heatwave I hadn't felt in a long time.

We are currently working on renovating the balcony. After rebuilding the foundation, we will paint it with a preservative so that it will last another 20 years.

I had a spirit level used by professionals, and I used it to do the surrounding construction, but after going around the entire circumference of only 6.6m2, I was surprised to see that there was a difference of 1.5cm at the last contact point.

Even with excellent tools, the difference in usability can be so great within 8m. I realized how much of a difference there is in usability of tools.

It started raining around 2pm. I tried to stop but it didn't last long so I started working again.

Finally, around 5pm, it got dark so we stopped.

October 18th (Friday) Cloudy

It was cloudy all day with occasional rain. Thanks to that, the balcony renovation work is progressing smoothly.

My Zipangu Club membership notebook had become worn out after 20 years, so I bought a new one.

Today is the day for burnable garbage... The shabby framework from the balcony we dismantled yesterday was all cut into 50cm pieces and bundled together in about five bundles, so I loaded it onto a wheelbarrow and took it out to the garbage.

After breakfast, I went to the hardware store to buy the materials I needed.

The main materials were made of wood that had already been treated with preservatives, so I used them, even though they were a little expensive.

I also bought some preservative for the thin coral materials. I immediately started leveling the balcony and laying down the weed control sheet.

The day ended with assembling the main components. We continued to enjoy the project.

October 17th (Thursday) Cloudy

The next day after having a good time, I woke up feeling refreshed. I had breakfast while eating rice bowls and communicating with my radio friends.

Speaking of which, it's been a while since I last communicated with each station. How was everyone's holiday?

I received a new report from a friend who has been working three days a week under an employment contract for a while after retirement.

The tractor hadn't been running for three years, but after cleaning the carburetor, it started working again. I'm sure the engine was very surprised. I can feel the joy.

Due to bad traffic conditions on the way to the station, I usually arrive at 7:45 at the latest, but today I didn't arrive until after 8:05.

After cleaning up after breakfast, we immediately started work on the balcony renovation, which had been a pending issue.

After all, originally, after the renovation of our house, the waste materials were going to be industrially disposed of, but I picked them up and used them to make the balcony.

It's been over 15 years already... If we don't start over with the foundation work, the balcony itself won't last.

October 16th (Wednesday) Cloudy

The autumn weather didn't last very long, but it didn't seem to rain much and we were able to continue our trip as planned.

My plan for today was to take a sightseeing boat to Takebushima Island on Lake Biwa.

The station hotel where I stayed has lost its name... It has been difficult to rebuild since COVID-19, and the hotel dining room has not reopened.

First, I had a convenience store bento box heated up and ate it in the waiting room at the station. It was still early 8 o'clock and the place was crowded with students, but the breakfast ritual ended without any problems.

From the station, take the free shuttle bus to Hikone Port. Then, head to Takeshima Island, an island of faith in Lake Biwa, which is 40 minutes away. Even though it was a weekday, the crowds were nearly 100%, and even here, about 20% were foreigners.

After the boat arrives on the island, it takes about 80 minutes to tour the palace shrines scattered here and there. All the shrines here are reached by stairs, and there are at least 200 steps, each 25cm high.

I was surprised to find that Hoganji Temple, a shrine that even the elderly could barely reach, was in such a place. Touring the many heritage sites, including the three-story pagoda of Uhodo, was beyond my physical strength.

Then we got back on the sightseeing boat and left the island.

Lake Biwa, I had no idea there was such a big lake in Japan.

October 15th (Tuesday) Cloudy

It was a short trip as I had planned. I left a little early, but I ended up arriving at the same time as the commuters.

I thought I would try to catch the crowded train later, but the later the train, the more crowded it gets, so I just had to sneak in.

Since I wasn't in a hurry, I chose the "Hikari" train, but it was as international as an airplane departing for a foreign country.

What did these people come to Japan for? It seems they are just traveling, with no interest in the scenery outside and blinds on the windows to avoid the sunlight.

I too was sitting in an aisle seat, munching on dried fish and sipping on sake while observing the caterpillars.

Get off the Shinkansen at Maibara Station and take the local train to Hikone Station. If you've come this far, you'll be heading to Hikone Castle.

I enjoyed myself in the tranquil garden until the evening, sipping on some drinks and doing some sketching.

October 14 (Mon) Sunny

Club table tennis practice. Yesterday, we couldn't use the gymnasium due to the district qualifiers, so it was today.

The use of the gymnasium is free only for today, so quite a few people came to the gym.

However, we seniors are always free of charge, so we always receive a reasonable amount of service.

Even more, if free gymnasiums are so popular, I would like to create an environment where everyone can incorporate sports into their lives.

In Kawaguchi City, I heard that even if a gymnasium loses money, it will be repaid by medical expenses. It is 110 yen for 2 hours for the general public. I feel like it's pretty much like that.

In the season when the body moves a lot, please take a break so

as not to remove the saddle

October 13 (Sun) Sunny

The season is getting better, and it's time for the fall of sports. The city's sports center is in full swing with town council competitions.

Thanks to this, the sports center that I always rented for the club was blocked by the town council tournament and I couldn't practice table tennis.

Well, I don't think it's a good idea because it's a common occurrence every year in the spring and this fall.

For people who usually exercise, I feel sorry for the people who are in an environment where they can only exercise on special days. I would like them to see it more actively as a part of their lives and actively incorporate it.

By noon, the temperature of the pottery kiln had dropped below 50 degrees Celsius and the kiln could be opened.

As usual, it seems that I will never get used to the excitement of feeling when opening the door no matter how many times I taste it, and today I removed the fastener of the door with excitement.

The first impression that jumped out at me was, "Are you guys all safe~?"

October 12 (Sat) Sunny

It was a tight start to the morning. I lit the pottery kiln that I had prepared for the time.

It was around 7 o'clock when the kiln was still cool. However, as time went on, the temperature of the kiln and the temperature of the kiln rose to the top.

The pattern of honyaki was to use firewood to raise the temperature up to about 500 degrees. However, an accident occurred.

In order to switch to a burner, I was squeezing the manual pump to transfer kerosene from the poly to the kerosene tank, but no matter how many times I tried, the kerosene would not work.

If you look closely, you can see that the bellows part where it is exhaled is cracked and air is leaking. No matter how hard you try, you will not be able to transfer the kerosene in the tank.

I wonder if there is a place that sells pumps in the height of summer like this. I tried calling the nearest gas station, but the reply was nonchalant, "No!"

Speaking of which, I remembered that the supermarket that always sells food has recently had a Dyson section. It was! Despite the fact that it was such a summer, they were selling pumps.

Thanks to you, I was able to bake the book according to my schedule. At 5 o'clock in the evening, the fire is turned off and the kiln is put out for tomorrow.

October 11th (Friday) sunny.

It's been a while since the weather has been clear, and it looks like we can enjoy autumn to the fullest. But to enjoy autumn to the fullest, I need to clear up any doubts about my health.

I went to the Saitama Cancer Center today. I was told that I would be pinned up with a gastroscope for a biopsy and then a CT scan.

All the tests were finished after 2 o'clock. I haven't eaten anything since the morning, so I'm starving.

There is a cafeteria at the cancer center, so I had plain udon noodles, which didn't put too much strain on my stomach. I had no idea udon noodles were this delicious (lol)

From the restaurant there, you can see the new transportation system New Shuttle passing through the green environment right in front of you.

Actually, I was asked to refrain from coming to the hospital by car because today's examination will require a stronger anesthesia, so I came by New Shuttle.

It feels great because it runs at the same height as the Shinkansen. And it runs on rubber tires.

Thursday, October 10: Cloudy

Although the weather forecast says that it will be a refreshing autumn sunny day with sunny days.

All I had to do was do the laundry during the morning meal and have it dried in the pleasant sun.

It's hard for the sun to show its face. After breakfast, I put the laundry on the clothesline, and today I went to the dentist who had an appointment.

I was introduced to him by the president of an ironworks company who was a friend of mine, and I am indebted to him as a dentist in Soka City.

For some reason, dental problems are more likely to occur during the ski season. At that time, a friend jumped in and asked for emergency treatment, and since then, I have been solicited.

My friend has passed away, but I still have a connection with the dentist.

Let's take care of it so that it doesn't break down permanently in our spare time, so I've been to the hospital 13 times since the end of my heart surgery.

If you make the last mold today and wear it next week, you can use it as a durable treatment tooth for the rest of your life. Thanks to this, I will be able to eat with my own teeth for the rest of my life.

October 9 (Wed) Cloudy

The temperature is low and does not reach 20 degrees in the morning. As expected, I was a little disappointed in this temperature difference.

What's more, today's schedule is pool day, so why did it come to be like this?

Still strong-willed? I did my daily swim in the pool. It was so low that it could not be compared to the water temperature in the middle of summer, but the water temperature was surprisingly warm and helpful.

Today's swim is Yadayo! There must have been many people who said that, but the pool was more completely empty than usual and there were extra lanes.

In the afternoon, I spent the afternoon in the atelier heating the atelier with a wood-burning stove.

I have finished all the preliminary painting of the ceramics that I started yesterday.

and then glaze is applied on top of it, but it splatters unexpectedly and stains the room.

I'm ready to bake pottery books, but I have a packed schedule of dentists, cancer hospitals, etc.

October 8 (Tue) Cloudy with occasional rain

If there is no sunshine these days, it will be very cold, especially this morning when the wind blows from the north.

I wonder if I need to get the stove ready. Speaking of which, I also had to change the chimney.

Until now, it is a wood-burning stove in the atelier, but there is some dissatisfaction. There is no problem as long as it is burning hard.

If the heat is too strong, you want to reduce the air supply to suppress the fire.

As a stove, it is forced to operate extremely delicately, but in such a case, the suction from the chimney may weaken and the smoke may flow back.

I think it's probably because the chimney in my house is too far to the side. I tried to connect one corner of the crank-shaped chimney path in the shortest time.

The other day I bought a chimney corner on the net not at a right angle, but at 135 degrees. This makes it a chimney in a triangular hypotenuse path.

I did a trial combustion test today. I was able to heat it smoothly without any problems, so I will spend this winter with this for a while.

October 7 (Mon) Cloudy and then sunny

The temperature during the day changed unusually. It was cold in the morning, but with the sunshine, the temperature became summery.

However, the severe heat weakens after 3 p.m., and it is more comfortable to open the windows without air conditioning.

Anyway, the temperature in the atelier became comfortable, and I decided to spend the day in the atelier.

I spent about an hour mopping and making the inside of the atelier feel good. Will it be the first time in three months that you will spend time in the atelier in earnest?

I painted ceramic works.

In my case, pottery is always a one-sided hobby, and I often wonder if it was okay to mix it like this.

Well, that's also within the range of forgiveness and enjoyment in the context of coincidence. In order to enjoy pottery in earnest, I think I need to start converting it into data.

Today I painted a small item such as a drink for alcohol.

October 6 (Sun) Cloudy

There was a general meeting of the 20-day stone alpine ski club to which I belong, and I went out.

The location is near Nakano Station in Tokyo. It was a really cool day because it was cloudy.

The Nakano Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which we used every year, could not be used because it overlapped with local events, so we held it at a private rented office.

In Tokyo, there are probably many such rental conference rooms. Well, it was a little small, but it was close to the station, and I thought that such a place would be more convenient from now on.

Oh yes, after all, it was close to the downtown area at the east exit of Nakano Station, so it was good to be close to the usual Taiwanese Chinese restaurant.

As usual, we toasted with beer and then enjoyed the dishes that came out one after another.

When I get home, it's still before 5 o'clock, and the best thing is that when you get older, you can start early and go home early.

October 5 (Sat) Cloudy and rainy

The temperature has been low since the morning and it feels a little cold, the temperature change is a little too large.

The room temperature is almost 23 degrees Celsius, and I am wearing long sleeves, but I refrained from thinking that it would not be enough to heat it.

My body has endured the intense heat, but I can't stop having a runny nose and sneezing due to the change in temperature.

Looking at the thermometer in the room, it is still 23~25 degrees, which is already hot compared to midwinter, and it is a temperature that you should take off even your jacket.

It turns out that it is able to adapt to temperature and is sluggish.

After a long time, I received an order for chili peppers. Well, it will last for half a year, but it will be over soon, and when you order, you can give your phone number and they will prepare it for you.

such a digging chili pepper arrived.

October 4 (Fri) Cloudy

The staining reaction of the tissue of the esophagus, which was pointed out in the spring checkup results, was called "non-staining" and required observation every year.

Finally, this year, we decided to come to a conclusion, so we inserted the test data so far into the floppy and wrote a referral letter to the Prefectural Cancer Center.

Because of my wife's case, I still have a fear of cancer because of it. However, my doctor's findings in my esophagus have always been postponed due to the need for observation.

But this year's doctor will settle it. They labeled me as "suspected cancer" and made a referral letter to the cancer center, so I went.

checkup ticket, you tend to think, "Finally, I'm a cancer patient..."

Now that we understand the situation well, let's set up endoscopic surgery with a biopsy from our own camera and, depending on the results, a hospital stay of about a week.

returned floppy data, but I also opened it on my computer.

the part that the doctor was worried about.

and nothing. I get it.

October 3 (Thu) Cloudy

That? I thought it was sunny for one day yesterday, but today it rained lightly from the morning and it became cloudy.

It's not easy to get October-like weather. The temperature does not reach 25 degrees even during the day.

Even in the weather forecast on TV, I try to talk about it at least in October, and I tell them that the autumn leaves front is a hot topic.

It seems that the effects of the extreme heat are being felt here and there. I already felt that the price of vegetables had risen.

All the leaves of the cherry blossom trees have scattered without turning red. I was trying to collect the seeds of morning glories, but they were not seeds.

I don't think we should expect too much from the wonderful autumn foliage.

October 2 (Wed) Sunny

It was sunny from the morning and the temperature rose sharply. I will go to inspect the newly opened road.

It is the intersection of National Routes 122 and 16, Iwatsuki and Kakura.

Here, the cranked No. 122 extended the signal interval against No. 16 on both the upper and lower lines, and gradually became a bottleneck with a long waiting time.

It opened at midnight on September 30th, and I went to investigate the situation by saying that it was actually in service for general vehicles from yesterday.

It's 9 to 10 o'clock in the morning, so it's usually quite crowded and you have to wait for at least 30 minutes.

Today, the road was so empty that I came directly to the intersection of No. 16. I think the car at the intersection was so bad. I also stopped at a traffic light once, but at the next green light, I crossed the old road and passed comfortably.

From here, there is a straight line to the Heirinji Bridge in Hasuda City without a traffic light, and expectations are high!

October 1 (Tue) Sunny

The temperature in the morning continued for the rest of the day. Although it was not a clear autumn sky, I enjoyed the autumn somewhat.

First thing in the morning, I went to my doctor's internal medicine clinic, which I visit every two months.

I used to go 30 minutes before the reception started and finish by 9:30 at the latest.

Many people were already waiting, and I was a little worried, but when I asked my neighbors, I heard that they were the people who made an appointment for an adult disease test here today.

I was surprised that this year's event was done as soon as the spring ski season was over.

I think I wasted an extra hour.

September 30 (Mon) Cloudy

Yesterday's table tennis practice was a mistake that I had in mind until last year, so I defended it this year. The temperature dropped and I made a mistake in practicing table tennis.

I wake up in the morning, start up, and do radio exercises. Apparently, there were no aftereffects of yesterday's table tennis practice, and it seems that it worked while saving a little.

Yesterday's table tennis practice was the autumn of sports, in other words, the temperature dropped and I was able to move my body well, but last year I jumped up here and got sick, so yesterday was the autumn of sports with a lot of savings.

In this way, it seems that this year, based on last year's failures, we can be a little smarter and enjoy the old man's sport.

Even on the walking path, it is a roadside flower that is often seen in autumn around here, called Akikaitang, but I did not see this flower in Suwa, Nagano, where I was born and raised.

When I came to live in Saitama and became interested in Saitama painters, I came across the works of a person named Yori Saito, and I was impressed when I came across a work called "Akikaito" among them.
秋海棠

Perhaps he was moved by his sense of perspective as a painter. There was a work in which I had such a feeling unconsciously.
Sister Cool

September 29 (Sun) Cloudy

The weather is so impure that it is hard to believe that it is autumn. I wonder if this is the autumn weather.

There is no sunlight, so the temperature does not rise. It's a good season for me to enjoy table tennis as much as I can.

We ate and cleaned up and went to the sports center. Oh my gosh, the parking lot is full and there is nowhere to park the car.

Here at the Anghang SC ground, we are in the middle of a gateball tournament in the Anghang area. Everyone is coming by car, and as you can imagine of gateball, it is a super early morning sport.

I managed to park, but 14 club members participated because the season was getting better.

I also move my body well during this season, and it's fun to do. However, last year, I had the experience of breaking down my body because I was too busy at this time of year.

I enjoyed it to the fullest while being cautious and telling myself that it was an old man's body. It's hard to beat women in their 60s, but that's okay.

September 28 (Sat) Cloudy

The weather forecast said that it would rain from the morning, but you can see the sun from time to time.

Well, it was a relatively sunny day, so it was easy to get through without the temperature rising.

There is only one shiso plant in the flower bed, but it has become so huge that I will pull out the last harvest of today's fruit.

Anyway, last week I was able to collect 50g of shiso berries and today 120g, but my fingertips were completely stained with scum.

When I uploaded last week's salting on the Internet, I was taught how to make it delicious from various directions, such as soy sauce pickling, yamiso tailoring, etc.

Well, it would be a standard accompaniment to rice, but I thought that it would be delicious for my friends who drink alcohol.

Last week, the famous moon of mid-autumn has passed, but today is the famous month in our house! The sake is good!

September 27 (Fri) Cloudy with occasional rain

Unlike yesterday's weather, it has been raining since morning. Light rain has already started intermittently since early morning.

I go out so much that I am nicknamed "Sunny Man" by my friends, and it seems that there are many days when it is relatively sunny at the time of events. Well, I think the reason for that is that I am planning while looking at the weather map.

I enjoyed such a sunny day to my heart's content, and the rain the next day was a day that added a kind of satisfaction.

The other day, on the 24th, I reported that there was a very worrying pink ribbon in the slope forest along the Minuma irrigation water on my walking path.

When I posted the same project on the social networking site facebook, many of my friends commented that this was a landmark for a tree to be cut down.

First of all, I asked the main telephone of Kawaguchi City about who owns and manages this tree, "Should I ask either department?"

They will look it up right away and connect you to the "Kawaguchi City Green Conservation Division", so please contact us. He connected me by saying.

A representative will come out and explain the matter. "That slope forest is managed by this department, and in terms of finances, it is managed in the same way as parks, green spaces, city roads, and street trees."

The pink ribbon you pointed out is a landmark that we investigated as a guide for pruning appropriate branches and leaves so that the trees in this slope forest can function as healthy and appropriate satoyama.
I marked it as a tree that was surveyed at the stage of budgeting in this section. I was relieved, and I was also worried that everyone might be cut down, but I was sorry, but I would like to post a notice to that effect immediately.

It was good, it was good...

Thursday, September 26 (Sunny)

I stood at the bus stop a little after 7 o'clock to catch the bus early in the morning.

The community bus in Kawaguchi City stops at a 7~8-minute walk from my house, which is called Kisoro Kita.

There are six community bus routes in Kawaguchi City, and they are structured so that you can go around the city.

For a long time, I felt that this bus was rattled and running around with no passengers, so I thought I had to master it once.

Today, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., I couldn't go around all of them, but I think I was able to go around all the main parts of the city.

There were 228 stops that passed, and a total of 143 people boarded the same bus. The main routes circulate from the Kawaguchi Medical Center, so there were many passengers who commuted there and the elderly.

There were a couple of people with whom I was able to talk and communicate with each other, so I gave them my business card and said that I would meet again on the Internet.

The only bus stop in Tokyo is "Minuma Shinsuikoen Station", which is the last station of the Skyliner from Nippori in Tokyo.

When this Skyliner was built, I immediately went to get on it, but I couldn't go home from there, so I went back to Nippori again. You can use this communal bus to get home.

The Minuma irrigation water that flows to Minuma Water Park Station is downstream from where I live. atmosphere, but the mosquitoes were so bad that I was completely killed.

I got addicted to the "Shosuke Set" during my lunch break here. I arrived home at 5 o'clock in the evening.

September 25 (Wed) Cloudy

I wonder if this cool day has already lasted for about 3~4 days.

I've gotten used to the coolness, so I pray that I won't see that day again.

Six months after adjusting my arrhythmia through heart catheter surgery, I recently installed a device that measures the electrocardiogram on a 24-hour monitor.

After the analysis was completed, I went to hear from the doctor today about the inspection report and future follow-up.

"So far, I'm relieved that everything is going well after the surgery."

I was very happy to hear the story. I heard the same story 3 months after the surgery, and today it was the test result 6 months later.

"Is it okay to say that you will be acquitted in the future?" or "Actually, there are cases where things are going well so far, but they return to normal after about a year."

That's why I would like to do a one-week wearing test again one year after surgery, this time using a different model.

I have mixed feelings, such as the joy and annoyance of being able to extend a hand to an elderly man who has a short future to observe after surgery so much.

However, celebrities such as Yuichiro Miura say that he did not get good results and went to the summit of Mount Everest each time while repeating the surgery.

The professor gave the example of Yuichiro Miura and Shigeo Nagashima, saying, "Even if the test is depressing, if you do it well, you can achieve some results."

September 24 (Tue) Sunny

Thankfully, the last couple of days have been very cool and comfortable.

Even if I was in the house, it was a little cold in the midsummer style, so I involuntarily pulled out my long sleeves and put them on.

It's not very easy in the middle of the night, but I can't sleep with the window open like I used to.

Of course, the bedding is still in the summer, but we are grateful that we can wrap it tightly and sleep soundly until morning.

It's been a long time, but I also took an evening walk.

I was already afraid of heat stroke during the middle of summer, so I refrained from doing so, so I can't count how many days it has been.

Perhaps because of the continuous hot weather, the cherry blossom trees along the Minuma irrigation water had already dropped their leaves. I don't know if it was always so early, but I blame it all on the heatwave.

Oops! What is it? This pink ribbon is.

An unnatural ribbon is tied to a tree in the slope forest along the Minuma irrigation water. The felling of many trees in the redevelopment project around Hitokoro Jingu Shrine was regarded as a problem.

I think it's Masaka, but I'll keep an eye on it.

September 23 (Mon) Sunny

Perhaps due to the atmospheric pressure configuration, the Kanto region has said that the heat has taken a break recently.

However, in the Noto region, linear precipitation bands also occurred, and there was a lot of damage caused by heavy rains.

Those who managed to move into temporary housing after the earthquake are now flooded with temporary housing, and God does a terrible thing.

As I get older, I think that when you are young, you can still recover from natural disasters. However, it is unbearable to think that the elderly will be victimized again.

I went out to practice club table tennis. I'm finally able to move comfortably even when I'm exercising.

Today, I was able to finish the two hours of practice without getting frustrated.

But this is about my body. I couldn't win anymore.

Well, table tennis itself is fun and I don't respond to it even if I get frustrated, but it's a testament to the fact that the young people around me are getting stronger.

September 22 (Sun) Cloudy with occasional rain

How many days have you spent a day in your house without air conditioning? I wonder if I should put on something to wear with the windows fully open.

And for the first time in a long time, I went out the front door to take care of the area around the house a little.

There was a sense of liberation, as if I had stayed in a shelter for a long time after the end of a nuclear war.

I would like to ask you not to do that. A tree to pick the leaves of the shiso tree that was left in the corner of the flower bed a week ago? However, it is time for the flowers to bloom and bear fruit.

I harvested a lot of shiso berries in a bowl of my own hand.

It took about 30 minutes to remove only the fruit by hand. I think I finished about 50g.

After washing it with water several times, I soaked it in water for about half a day to remove the drills. There was also a way to boil it, but I soaked it in water that didn't run out of shiso much.

After that, I drained the water, removed the water with a towel, added 10% salt, put it in a Tupperware and refrigerated.

Of course, I used a part of it to make rice balls. Ugh~n! Delicious!.

September 21 (Sat) Sunny

The residual heat is still severe during the day, but it has become much easier to endure in the mornings and evenings.

Saturday morning is the day when the alarm doesn't go off. I didn't do any strenuous exercise, so I just woke up a little later than usual.

The weather forecast also said that the heat would remain a little until today. North of Fukushima, it seems to have become much cooler under the south of the front.

And in the Noto region, where the front is located, there is also a linear precipitation band, causing considerable damage. We are sorry that we have not been able to recover from the earthquake.

There was also a book that I was about to read, so I thought I'd finish reading it because there were only a few left.

A sense of liberation for people who are tired of work and quit in the middle and are now middle-aged women.

I get a lot of sympathy, but middle-aged people still have at least as much life left to become a recluse. I wonder if this is the crucial moment in my life.

Has it already been 2~3 months since the cashiers from the local supermarket where you go to buy ingredients have disappeared? I'm also surprised that I've become so accustomed to self-checkout.

It's reasonable, but where have all those cashiers gone? Every time I checkout, I was happy like an aunt in the neighborhood, but I am very lonely shopping.

September 20 (Fri) Sunny

Every morning, I have breakfast at 7 o'clock. And my radio buddies are also working and traveling by car these days.

Since my wife died, I've been eating breakfast alone, so I'm always talking to my radio buddies while eating.

One such colleague is a pastry chef who commutes from Tokyo to Toda City in Saitama Prefecture every morning to manage a confectionery manufacturer factory.

The other day, there was an interview with a TV station, and I told everyone that the content would be broadcast on Channel 6 this morning. Moreover, the broadcast time was always a time when we were absorbed in talking on the radio.

Around 7:30 in the morning, it was a time when everyone was excited to report on yesterday's events, talk about today's anxieties, and talk about worries and hopes about work and life.

Oh~, the TV broadcast of the program has finally begun. I'm sure my friends who travel by car are also watching the content on the car TV, and of course I also have the audio on that program, but the channel is tuned.

"I don't think I'm shown here...", but from the end of the film, he's shown in a red T-shirt like the main character.

It has been aired on other programs before, but it has always been at night, but this is the first time that everyone has aired on the radio.

program showed direct sales at low prices, such as high-end cakes served at various famous hotels and cafes.

Come to think of it, last year I had two female customers at my house, so I went here and bought a cake (laughs).

September 18 (Wed) Sunny

It was a cool day once, but yesterday it was a hot day, and it seems that it turned into a tropical night at night.

Even so, a refreshing breeze blew through our bedroom and I was able to sleep comfortably. If the temperature drops while looking at the famous moon in mid-autumn, it will be autumn.

As if to blow away such a nighttime mood, the temperature rose sharply from the morning this morning.

While having breakfast, I was playing rag with my usual radio buddies, and the heat seemed to be reverberating especially in everyone's moving car.

Today is Wednesday, so I'm going to drive to Tospo for swimming according to my schedule. The inside of the car is also out of breath in this intense heat.

Tospo is a little busy today. A table tennis match was being played by a junior high school in this area of the city.

Good luck to all of you who will be responsible for the future Japan table tennis world!

September 17 (Tue) Sunny

The weather, which was a little silly and enjoyable with the signs of autumn, was high with the rise of the sun this morning! That's about it.

It was back to the usual hot day again. Today, I was confined to my room except for shopping for food all day.

I wonder if the Agency for Cultural Affairs is also doing such a survey. What is the reality of the recent shift away from reading?

When I was working, I didn't feel like reading. There was a junior reader at work, and if I had time to spare, I would read the book I was reading.

Nowadays, I read books when I have free time, but due to my personality, I am slow to switch my mind, so I read a little like my juniors do, and it doesn't lead to the next one. Even after nearly 20 years, it doesn't seem to have become a habit.

In the early summer of the flower bed at the front door, a sprout of chiso came out and I carefully nurtured only one. Throughout the summer, they have competed with green insects and insects to steal the tasty young leaves.

At this point, the green insects have become butterflies, and the insects are all adults? And it got so big that I couldn't eat it alone.

When I looked at it, I saw that preparations for the production of chiso fruits were already steadily being prepared, and it was soon time to harvest. After a little while, it is time to prepare for making salted chiso fruits.

September 16 (Mon) Cloudy

Could it be that the temperature at night has dropped a little? If you don't put a summer comforter on your stomach, your body will be a little too cold.

At night, the temperature has become too cold if you don't close the windows at all. Summer is coming to an end.

When I go down to the living room and look at the thermometer, it doesn't seem like the room temperature has dropped that much. However, if you open all the windows and open them, the fresh morning air will flow into the living room.

In the end, I was able to spend a comfortable time without air conditioning until it was almost noon and the sun started to come out.

Well, even if you take care of the air conditioner, the outside air will feel more refreshing after 3 p.m.

Today is Respect for the Aged Day, and among the congratulatory gifts from the city was a gift certificate. What? I got the same thing last year, but what happened?

I looked for it and found it. I can't get rid of this kind of thing unless I use it, so I bought a coffee mill and a drip kettle that I've wanted for a long time.

As expected, I was able to enjoy the plump aroma and deliciousness of the square for the amount of time I spent.

September 15 (Sun) Sunny

The intense heat continues every day. It is a crucial moment to succumb to the extreme heat or to overcome it and continue with the usual activities. As for me, I still sweat the necessary sweat for the heat, and if I hydrate, I sweat like a waterfall, so I recognize that my body is functioning well.

The club's table tennis practice was scheduled for the next day as the heat wave continued.

The gymnasium seems to have become monopolized because it seems that only us club members come.

Even so, I have no choice but to take a break and deal with the heat associated with humidity.

finally left the front for an hour and a half.

The 1-liter drink I brought with me was also finished.

September 14 (Sat) Sunny

Saturday is the only day of the week when I don't set my alarm. It means that you should oversleep in the morning and get tired.

It was cool here, so I slept with the window fully open. I woke up in response to the morning sunlight that hit my eyelids faintly. It's about 15 minutes later than my usual alarm.

I went to sketching for the first time in a long time, but I was not so tired, and I was able to go to bed at 9 o'clock as usual after returning home.

So even without an alarm, it was a natural awakening at 6 o'clock. It's kind of cool, but the temperature is close to 30 degrees in the morning.

An officer of the town council came to the door.

Soon, in honor of Respect for the Aged Day, the city and town council came to deliver heartfelt celebrations.

I was grateful for the tea and quo card.

September 13 (Fri) Sunny

I left home at 6:30 in the morning and took a bus to Kawaguchi Station, and then jumped on the train I was aiming for at Akabane, which was just one station away, when it came to the platform.

What...? To Odawara...? Apparently, the morning train is late and my train is coming late. I waited for the next one at Oku Station.

It was just during the morning rush hour, and the green car was still standing all the way to Ueno, but I was able to sit down and it was in a rattling state after Tokyo.

It took about 2 hours to get to Atami, and I took a foot bath in front of the station and planned my strategy for the day.

It was sunny and hot, but the sea breeze was pleasant, and I was able to take pictures in a good mood.

there is a quiet Atami fishing port that is very calm and clogged up.

There were 3~4 fishermen Iiya-san, and I ate fresh fish there and came back.

September 12 (Thu) Sunny

It seems that the corona disaster has calmed down a little. Last month, I received news that two of my close friends had been infected.

I still can't feel safe. Since the fire broke out in the Akabane restaurant district, I was worried about what would happen to my favorite restaurant. Even so, I refrained from going out in self-restraint.

Last week we had a boat trip to Oshima, but the weather was bad and we had plenty of time, but we couldn't even sketch.

It's still a hot day, but I planned to enjoy sketching nearby for the first time in a long time. After all, I want to eat delicious fish dishes at a nice small restaurant by the sea.

The distance from my residence to Atami is more than 100 km, and if you buy a round-trip ticket for the elderly on the train, it will exceed 200 km, and you will be eligible for 3 discounts on "Adult Holiday Living".

I bought a round-trip green ticket because it was discounted. It's nice to be able to go to Atami on the Metropolitan Area Train without having to change trains.

Well, tomorrow I'm going to wake up early, I'm going to bed early today.

I'll put up with the heat tomorrow, but I don't think it's going to rain.

September 11 (Wed) Sunny

It seems that last night was a tropical night. But my bedroom on the third floor with the windows on three sides open and spread out, and it was comfortable.

There were many days that were a little windy at night on the last two or three days, but it was a good coolness in the depths of autumn.

Today is Wednesday, so I'm planning to go swimming. A week goes by surprisingly quickly, and it seems like it's already been a week since my last swim.

Speaking of which, last week, when I was changing clothes in the pool dressing room, I pulled the cap as hard as I could and put it on, and it was torn and torn.

We went out a little early and went to a sporting goods store. I was going to buy a swimming cap, but speaking of which, the goggles are also hard to see and don't fit, so there are also water leaks.

I replaced everything and bought it. Naked competition equipment is cheap and helpful.

September 10 (Tue) Sunny

Last night, when I slept with the windows fully open, it rained heavily at night and I panicked.

However, even after closing the window, there was no need for a fan or air conditioner, and the temperature was comfortable and I was able to sleep peacefully.

Today is the day of the dentist's appointment with me. I've been going every week since the end of July to get it fixed perfectly -- this is the eighth time.

The foundation work is finished, and today I made a mold of the teeth to cover it. Perhaps if you wear it next week, you will have strong teeth that will be guaranteed for more than 20 years.

When I came home from the dentist, there was something moving on the net at the entrance of the shed by the entrance. a large grasshopper was perched.

I was probably eating a large leaf that I couldn't eat on my own.

September 9 (Mon) Sunny

Aside from the intense heat during the day, the temperature in the morning and evening will surely drop and the pleasant days will continue.

However, as soon as the morning hours are over, the sun rises, and the temperature rises sharply, bringing unrelenting heat.

Even so, by the time I had breakfast, I could enjoy the feeling of early autumn, and for a moment I thought that if I continued like this, I would go for a ride on my bicycle.

The state of the atmosphere is not so sweet yet. Even open the book ... Spend.

Speaking of books, I have been picking up books without going to a bookstore for more than 10 years now.

in cool terms, let's say it's an online purchase.

With a system called Reader Store developed by Kinokuniya Bookstore and Sony, you can search, buy, and collect books at online bookstores. If you go there and search for "bookshelf", you will find that there are more than 500 books that I have purchased, and I can re-read them at any time.

Thankfully, when I try to buy a book that I have read and forgotten a long time ago, I say, "You're a good person." (laughs)

September 8 (Sun) Sunny

It started to feel a little cooler in the mornings and evenings. When I woke up in the morning and went down to the living room, I looked at the thermometer and it was 28 degrees.

I don't think the temperature has dropped that much. I wonder if I'm getting used to the heat a little.

After breakfast, I go to club table tennis practice, so I get used to the room temperature of the air conditioner.

Even though it was a little hot, I put up with the fan and finished the meal.

The 14 members of the club practiced energetically. I was able to practice almost full-time in this environment.

September 7 (Sat) Sunny

In the evening, it seemed that the side brake was replaced, so I went to pick it up.

Prior to that, I went to the repair shop this morning to do maintenance on the lower part of the car.

As I wrote in my diary yesterday, this morning I waited for the repair shop to open and came with stainless steel wires.

The car factory, which is a 3-minute walk away, is a great repair shop for me.

There is corrosion in one of the muffler support brackets, which does not interfere with the problem at the moment, but will need to be repaired in the future.

you just have to prevent it from falling.

Firmly fixed with stainless steel wire and fixed with aluminum repair tape.

For a while, I will live in a car while watching the situation.

September 6 (Fri) Sunny

For two days from today, my car was deposited at a local auto repair shop for repairs.

Until now, the parts did not arrive, so there was no side brake, but the parts arrived.

It was a busy time when the repair shop was scheduled, so I was going to fix my car in between the repair status of other cars.

In the meantime, the car was jacked up and spent two days in the repair shop.

In other words, for me, I had more time to take this opportunity and take a closer look at the lower condition of the car.

The back of the car has been corroded considerably due to the influence of snow melting agent salt damage on the road in winter for many years.

By grasping such a situation with my own eyes, I realized that I had to think about the life of the car.

Tomorrow I will try to devise a way to pass the car inspection at least once (3 years).

September 5 (Thu) Sunny

I was able to sleep peacefully with a cool night breeze like when I was in Oshima.

It was sunny in the morning, so the temperature will rise sharply after this.

I had an appointment with the dentist first thing in the morning. It is said that it is a treatment of confidence that you will not need to repair it for the rest of your life.

From next week, the foundation work will be completed, the pillars that will be used as supports, and the reconstruction will be carried out with the mold.

The situation of the return from Oshima was announced on Facebook and was well received, so I will post it here as well.

Just like a small boat 50 years ago, when you leave the island, you will be sad to say goodbye to the people who see you off.

For a while, the ship's wake looks like a tape that seems to be regrettable forever.

I looked for a sketch from 50 years ago. There was, and I miss it.

September 4 (Wed) Sunny

The trip to Oshima ended safely and it was late, but I returned home at 9 o'clock.

The temperature was cool and I was able to sleep comfortably in the night breeze without air conditioning.

The temperature in the morning was carried over as it was, and I was able to enjoy the refreshing coolness with the windows fully open from the morning.

By the time breakfast was over, I could feel the signs of autumn, but as soon as the clouds lifted and the sun came out, the intense heat came in.

I managed to spend time in the living room with outside air until just before I went out to the pool, but I turned on the air conditioner and left for the pool.

Still, there was a fresh breeze from the north by the time we got to the car, but by the time we got back from the pool, we couldn't expect that anymore.

Still, when I got home, I was like, "Mmm...!! "I don't want to go back to the room.

September 3 (Tue) Cloudy and rainy

The weather in the morning was first. In the morning, I went to the hospital and did radio exercises in front of the hotel.

When I returned to my room and had breakfast, I saw Mt. Mihara and the primeval forest at the foot of the mountain more clearly than I have ever seen.

After that, it rained a lot from time to time, and when I left the hotel at 10 o'clock, it was a shuttle bus, so it was good, but it was pretending to be raining heavily.

During the lunch break at Okada Port, the weather improved and the clouds parted. At the port, I enjoyed watching the people fishing for a while where the water was clean and I could see that much.

I boarded the large ship Sarubia Maru and watched Oshima off in the distance on the aft deck.

The weather was nice, so I spent most of my time on the deck instead of going into my room.

and returned to Takeshiba Pier before 5:30 p.m.

September 2 (Mon) Cloudy and rainy

We arrived safely at Oshima Okada Port at 5am and the weather looked good.

However, it suddenly gets cloudy and starts raining heavily, so it looks like we won't be able to go outside.

I spent the day drinking at Oshima Onsen Hotel.

You can sometimes see Mt. Mihara from the hotel.

September 1 (Sun) Cloudy / Rainy

Departs from Takeshiba Pier at 11pm.

We arrived on Izu Oshima at 5am.

August 31 (Sat) Sunny, Cloudy, Rainy

What is the typhoon that I have been waiting for now? Continue north to Ishikawa Prefecture.

From the day after it occurred, it was a typhoon like tag, sewing through the gaps between the latest computer computing technology that Japan is proud of.

There are also travel plans that have been planned for the short time left in the life of the elderly man.

Hanging out with such a capricious idiot would ruin my application plan. Okay, then you should execute it according to plan.

I've been planning it for more than a month now, and I've been enjoying the Seishun 18 ticket trip until now, but due to JR's policy, long-distance local trains have disappeared from all over the country.

Last year was probably the last. At this time of year, when the heat still remains, transfer trains can be tolerated, but everything is a short distance.

The train ended at several stops in a fully air-conditioned car, the waiting time was extremely hot, and I broke my body in the transfer of a fully air-conditioned car. Farewell JR, that's why it's a ship this year.

Hahaha..., tomorrow we will set sail for Oshima.

August 30 (Fri) Cloudy and rainy

The typhoon is still unmotivated or not.

In spite of this, it has caused flood damage in many places.

I also went to the hospital today to remove the 24-hour heart function check device that was attached to my body yesterday.

Where I live is an area where there is no flood damage even if it rains heavily, but I go down the hill to the hospital.

On the way, we crossed the Jizo Bridge in the upper reaches of the river called Shibakawa, which runs from north to south of Kawaguchi City, but we saw a considerable increase in water.

August 29 (Thu) Cloudy and rainy

It can be said that the typhoon is almost in a state of straying. It is difficult to predict the career path, and the future development status is uncertain.

However, it seems to be exerting its influence over a wide area, and it seems that it is also raining heavily in some areas.

Next month will be six months since my heart surgery.

Perhaps as part of the postoperative aftercare, the last time was 3 months later, but this time it is a little early, but I installed a 24-hour ECG record 6 months later.

The last time I was there, the season was still in May, and it was an exhilarating time of the year, so I rode a bicycle and had a certain sense of inspection.

But this time, in the heat of the day, you can't sweat, and of course you can't take a shower.

If that happens, you'll have no choice but to squirm in the house.

  August 27 (Wed) Sunny

Regardless of the path of the typhoon, I am worried that it will progress slower than planned and will interfere with my travel plans.

At this minute, I will have to cancel my schedule depending on tomorrow.

Anyway, today was pool day, so I went to the East Sports Center and swam.

The water temperature is still high and uncomfortable.

There are still children, but this time the children's summer vacation is over, and the pool will be open from next week.

I received rice from my cousin who lives in Kanazawa. They were worried because I muttered on social media that rice had disappeared from supermarkets.

It is said that there was no rice riot in the Hokuriku area this time. Thank you.

  August 26 (Tue) Sunny

Last night was a perfectly cool night. Basically, the windows are opened and the fan is used as a supplement, but the wind at night was a little too cold.

I don't think that autumn has deepened with this, but I understand that it is probably a temporary cool breeze due to the approach of the typhoon.

However, the weather during the day is also a little unstable recently, but today it is a busy environment due to rain during the day.

I am most concerned about the arrival time of the typhoon, but I am concerned about the delay in the arrival time due to the change in its track.

That's right, I'm planning a trip to Oshima by boat on September 1st, and I'm worried that I'll not leave the port at this time.

Last week, in the midst of the intense heat, there was a time when it was easy to get through the sun in the morning, so I quickly mowed the grass as much as I could.

It was my lawn mower that played an active role at such a moment's notice. In the past, it was also active in managing the undergrowth of vast mountain forests, and it was already a dull mower.

I brought it to Makita's sales office last weekend for maintenance, and it was completed today.

  August 26 (Mon) Sunny

I go to the dentist every week for tooth restoration and reconstruction. I'm about two-thirds of the way there.

I'm in the process of repairing the side brake packing of my car. It's a little inconvenient to park.

The brake packing of the side brake corrodes and emits an abnormal noise when it hits the axle, so I have it removed until the parts are installed for the time being. That's why I use it without side brakes.

Therefore, there is no problem for parking on flat ground, but the parking lot of the dentist here is quite steep. I was curious to see how I could fasten it.

After stopping first, "step on the clutch pedal, put it in reverse gear, step on the foot brake and stop the engine", "If you release the clutch pedal, even if you step on the brake firmly, the power accelerator will disappear, so the car will move and slide down".

Nowadays, most people will have automatic cars, so I think it will be difficult to understand even if you read this sentence. After thinking about it for 4~5 minutes, "I stepped on the foot brake, stepped on the clutch pedal, did not turn off the engine, released the clutch pedal while putting it in the back gear" and "stalled and stopped moving" It was a great success.

I stopped the car and went to the dentist just in case.

On the way back, I stopped at the supermarket to buy more food. I wasn't expecting it, but I went to the shelf in the rice section and looked at it.

I was able to buy one, although it was a 1kg bag of sachets.

  August 25 (Sun) Sunny

There was a bit of frustration at the practice area at today's table tennis club practice. If you go to the practice site, you will not be able to use the gymnasium because there is a district competition today.

What"~!? Well, it happens sometimes. When we open our training grounds, we plan according to the pre-schedule of the sports center.

The calendar of the sports center also states that this is just a schedule and cannot necessarily be carried out according to this schedule, and it says to check the last schedule.

Unfortunately, none of the club members saw the last-minute change in plans.

When I went in the morning and thought that there was no parking space for the car today~, it turned out that I could not practice at the sports center as planned.

If you search for the usage status of a nearby sports center in a hurry, you will find a second candidate location. When I broadcast it on LINE, everyone gathered here.

13 people, I was relieved to be able to secure 6 table tennis tables.

But today's temperature and humidity are very high, and as soon as the drink I brought with me was finished in an hour and a half, I reached my limit.

But I can't tell you how good I felt after exercising.

August 24 (Sat) Sunny, Cloudy, Rainy

The morning was normally sunny. This morning's traveling radio gymnastics was also held in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo, and the announcer also has a wonderful blue sky.

So, since it was a sunny morning in my river, I was going to start a hot day with sunny weather today.

But I didn't count on it because there were clearly clouds in the eastern sky.

It was hard to look at the sky because the strong sunlight sometimes hid it, and thick clouds began to gather in the sky above our house.

Eventually, even though it was midday, it began to rain like evening.

The evening news also reported the damage in various places.

Yesterday, when I leaked that I couldn't buy rice on SNS, I received words of support from some of my friends. Thank you.

I was really surprised, I'm going to spend a while with a retort meal. I pray that it will calm down soon.

  August 23 (Fri) (Friday) Sunny

Has the ease of spending time in the mornings and evenings eased somewhat? Last night, I had a good night's sleep in the cool breeze.

And even in the morning, it was not a very hot morning, but in a slightly pleasant air, I started the day with radio gymnastics in good spirits today.

I cook rice about once every two weeks. In the first place, a meal is a meal in the morning, a snack biscuit or occasional udon noon at lunch, and a snack at night.

So, the rice is cooked with 2 cups of rice, 1 cup of sprouted brown rice, 15 g of black beans, and 15 g of kintoki beans for 7 breakfasts. The rest is divided into 6 equal parts, refrigerated, and eaten at breakfast.

Well, one out of three breakfasts will be bread, so to be precise, rice breakfast is about 70%.

I go to the local supermarket once every 2~3 days, but I didn't pay much attention to it. I was surprised when I went to the rice shelf today, and I was surprised that the rice shortage in the world is also at the end of the city where I live.

There is not a single grain of rice. I bought retort rice without stopping, well, I take care of the food every time I go out, but this situation is not a joke.

I feel like I'm back to the potato life I was born and grew up in.

The two potted olives are going well.

  August 22 (Thursday) (Thursday) Sunny

It's still a hot day, but lately it's a little cloudy in the morning, and the temperature can be low.

It's like that today. After cleaning up after breakfast, I went to work at the front door in sleeves and long pants.

For the weeds in this area, the strong sunlight and the occasional thunderstorm water supply made the weeds on the side of the driveway to our house grow smoothly.

However, in the Barack heat, we could only hold back.

Wasn't it an exquisite Thailand that if you miss this place where there is no direct sunlight, when will you be able to harvest?

Thanks to you, I was so impatient that I forgot to take a picture of the weeds growing as much as I wanted.

Well, that's what I always think if I'm a man. A refreshing face after shaving, come to think of it, it was terrible before shaving (laughs).

  August 21 (Wed) (Wednesday) Sunny

My radio friend, who was on summer vacation until yesterday and said that he would go to work after the holiday today, came out during the talk time this morning.

The retirement age has already passed, but will it be the first day of work on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays three days a week when I am rehired? He is 72 years old, just 10 years older than me.

It was a long summer vacation, but did you go out somewhere? On the contrary, I endured the hot days at home every day.

It seems that you manage a fairly large vegetable garden, but were you active in that area? It was already a hot day, so it would have been nice if I could weed for an hour in the early morning.

For dinner last night, he said that he had eaten out with his wife for the first time in a long time for Buri to prepare for today.

My plan for today is to go to the pool and swim. It will be a movement that leaves my home and skewers National Route 122 in Kawaguchi City almost from north to south.

If there is no traffic obstruction, you will reach the pool in about 30 minutes. There is a municipal swimming pool near the city, but the water temperature is too high and there is no competition in the first place, so I think it is a bath.

But even in this competitive pool, the water temperature today is 31.4 degrees Celsius, and it feels like a lukewarm hot spring. By the way, it seems that the temperature is controlled at 25~28°C at the Olympics.

Thailand is a quick swim in a clean pool. The disadvantage of this pool is that if the temperature does not drop, the water temperature will not drop.

  August 20 (Tue) (Tuesday) Sunny

I was sleeping in a pleasant night breeze when it suddenly started to rain. I hurriedly closed the window and fell asleep again.

Recently, we have not been blessed with stable weather through the night. Moreover, I can't allow it to start raining at such a late hour.

Since this year's winter is not yet over, the tournament guidelines for the next year's World Masters are flying around, and I can't stop feeling it.

I have been competing in the Ski World Masters for more than 10 years. At last year's tournament in Canada, I received a long-awaited medal. The memory of how happy I was has not disappeared.

However, I can't shake off my anxiety. Maybe it's because of my age, but I feel like the symptoms of jet lag are worse than they used to be. Today, the world's elderly leaders are flying around the globe and promoting diplomacy, and I can't help but think it's amazing. Aren't those people superhuman?

At this year's Games in Canada and last year in Austria, the symptoms of jet lag do not go away easily after the age of 80.

This season, the France is back in the warrance. We decided to give ourselves about four days to participate in the tournament.

I'm ready to make a plan and work towards that goal, but I've seen several people withdraw from the game due to injury or other reasons.

you also need to be insured against various risks. It is a desire to move forward and move forward in Thailand.

  August 19 (Mon) (Monday) Sunny

When I got up and stood in the living room, the room temperature was already 29 degrees Celsius. For the time being, the day starts with the air conditioner running.

I made tea and read the newspaper, but today is a newspaper holiday.

I thought it would be a good idea to spend a relaxing time listening to the sound of the radio. They are actively talking about weather forecasts and traffic information, but they are all background music.

Apparently, you read the newspaper every morning in such a state of distraction. Well, I don't come across any articles that particularly stick in my head, but when I do, I take notes to make up for it.

After a couple of teas, it's time for radio exercises. After all, if you don't finish it every morning, your body, mind, and body won't function. Yossha!!

I went to the dentist Mr./Ms. who had an appointment. "80-20" is a campaign to take good care of your teeth and keep at least 20 of your teeth functioning at the age of 80.

I don't have any wisdom teeth, but 23 of them are still functional, thanks to the fact that I've spent my whole life taking care of them.

One of these treatments was a little inadequate, and sometimes I had to take care of it urgently. And that's when it's during the ski season.

I've been planning to do this year for a long time, and I'm going to fix it perfectly this summer, but I'm halfway through the important foundation work.

  August 18 (Sun) (Sunday) Sunny

The temperature has been high since the morning this morning. When I went down to the living room, it was 29 degrees Celsius, and I was getting used to the heat.

Last night, I was able to sleep comfortably in the night breeze without air conditioning. And I heard the sound of insects for the first time.

It's a quiet residential area, so even if you sleep with the window open at bedtime, you can't help but hear the chirping of insects around 9 o'clock, the chirping of small birds waking up around 4:30 in the morning, and the chirping of cicadas around 5:30 a.m.

It shows up from time to time, but last night there was a group of stupid kid modified motorcycles going up and down the bus street, making a high-pitched noise.

In the past, there was also a dangerous incident where somewhere they tried to block it by putting a rope on the road. I understand the feeling, a group of idiots who have disappeared into the distance.

Well, I wouldn't say that this morning was a particularly hot day, but the humidity was tremendous. Even if you are adjusting a cold drink for table tennis, you cannot put it in your bag because of the condensation.

If you leave a drink bottle in the middle of table tennis practice, the condensation water will form a puddle on the floor.

It was tough today, but I endured table tennis practice.

  August 17 (Sat) (Saturday) Sunny

In my memory, the day after many typhoons passed, a refreshing autumn breeze blew and the heat was a break.

Yes that's right. Nevertheless, even if the morning sunshine is unavoidable, what about this humidity?

In the first place, the course of the typhoon is a course in which the path of the typhoon goes straight from the south to the Kanto region, but the course that turns back sharply to the east-northeast is rather a Buri of hot and humid weather.

Let's say that the day after this typhoon, the intense heat in various places did not turn into heavy rain.

What is worrisome is that tropical cyclones are forming here and there immediately.

It is impossible to predict when it will replace a typhoon, and its occurrence cycle is so short that the expression "one after another..." is perfect.

  August 16 (Fri) (Friday) Rain

I don't know what time it was last night, but I opened the window and slept comfortably, but I noticed the sound of rain and closed it.

By the time I woke up, there was not much rain and a gentle typhoon hit.

Even in the morning, there was occasional heavy rainfall, but it was temporary. It was raining and stopping.

Today was the combustible garbage collection day, and I didn't like this rain, but luckily I was able to bring it out when the rain stopped.

The so-called SNS, well, as for me, I open my homepage to the public. Nowadays, there are problems such as personal information, but we operate with a full understanding of such risks.

And facebuuk has been with us for more than 10 years and disseminates information as a daily contact point. Some of them have access from several people, and the level of security is quite low in terms of the current level of information security.

And if you eliminate all the people who have contacted you, the degree of safety will certainly increase. But doing so will close the door on the spread of new friends. Even in such a situation, there are people who say that they are glad that they became friends.

Although it is about 1/20, I would like to emphasize that possibility Thailand.

Today I spent a quiet time in the house reading a book in the morning.

  August 15 (Thursday) (Thursday) Sunny

The sun was strong again today, and the temperature rose.

I went to a nearby supermarket to buy food, and when I came back, it was time for automatic watering.

The flower beds at the front door are set to automatic watering at 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. for 3 minutes each.

Every year, when there was no watering system, when I came back from summer vacation, the flower beds were completely withered.

Even after the installation of the current automatic sprinkler system, various accidents occurred.

There was a time when the joint came off and the water flowed out onto the road for a long time, causing a water bill.

now it is stable and protects the flower bed even in this heat.

She made a beautiful rainbow with the sunshine and greeted me when I returned from shopping.

  August 14 (Wed) (Wednesday) Sunny

On this week's pool day, the water temperature in the pool was finally 31.7 degrees Celsius. It's already past comfortable and it's disgusting.

There is a device to raise the water temperature for winter, but there is no device to lower it if the water temperature rises due to the continuous heat wave.

According to the lifeguard Mr./Ms., it seems that new tap water was added last week to lower the water temperature, but the tap water is already too warm and has no effect.

I can't predict how far it will go.

The perilla leaves that I left in the flower bed at the entrance have grown so large that I can no longer cover them with my condiments alone.

When I tried to harvest a little more leaves as a felling, I was intimidated by the residents who lived in it.

Well, stop cutting down the trees and harvest as much as you can eat for the time being, and start preparing the perilla rolls.

It was a satisfying dinner for the Buri first time in a long time, although it was a lot of work today.

  August 13 (Tue) (Tuesday) Sunny

Last night, I was able to go to bed with a slightly northerly breeze and a pleasant cool breeze due to the typhoon.

In the morning, the heat shield shines as well as usual in the morning.

Today is the day to put combustible garbage and household waste at the garbage station. It was supposed to be served by 8:30, but I went in the sunshine.

Perhaps there are many families who are absent during the Obon holiday, but the amount of garbage at the collection site today was less than half of the usual amount.

Most of the recent new residents in this area have moved in the last 2~3 years.

Perhaps all Mr./Ms. families spend Obon at their parents' homes.

I have air conditioning in my house and feel comfortable in my room. Yes, I enjoy drawing and reading.

The potted olive tree on the veranda has been growing steadily so far, exactly two months after I confirmed that it was fruiting in June.

  August 12 (Mon) (Monday) Sunny

It was a mountain day, and today, which was a substitute holiday, the club's table tennis practice was actually scheduled, but I decided to take a day off.

There's nothing I can't do if I try, but my physical strength these days will be damaged after a few days.

Even if you are in a somewhat good physical condition, if you are content with it and play too much, there will definitely be parts of your body that will not return in a few days after 2~3 days.

Even if you think you can do a little more to prevent this from happening, your body will tell you that it is safer to quit when you quit.

As usual, the weather has been clear since the morning and the temperature is rising.

When I got up and went down to the living room, it was already 30 degrees. I spent the whole day with the air conditioner on without hesitation.

Another thing is that my hair has grown a little too much when I notice it. If this is not neat and tidy, a haircut will be carried out.

Just by the mood, it seems that autumn has arrived.

  August 11 (Sun) (Sunday) Sunny

It was sunny in the morning and the temperature rose sharply.

The world was on holiday, and the city felt calm for a while. There are probably many table tennis club members who go out.

In the meantime, I arrived at the sports center to calm down and practice a little Chile.

Oh my gosh, the same practice participants gathered as usual.

With 15 people, it seems that 7 out of 10 table tennis tables in this sports center will be monopolized.

That's right, ordinary people don't come during this Obon holiday. I was able to practice almost exclusively.

But for some reason, I'm not feeling well! Well, there is such a string.

  August 10 (Sat) (Saturday) Sunny

It was sunny in the morning today. I don't hesitate to lock myself in the house.

The book I was reading while looking at my free time didn't seem to fit, so I skipped it again and read it again.

I was able to understand the general plot of works that were highly entertaining or had a strong storyline even if they were long stories, even if I didn't read them every day.

I think I came across a difficult book for the first time in a Buri. I had already read more than half of the book, but I couldn't read the whole picture at all, and I thought it would be bad if I continued to read it as it was.

It was very hot from the morning today. After skipping over the books I've read so far until yesterday, I finally got the whole picture.

If I were an ordinary writer, Mr./Ms. wouldn't write a book like this. It doesn't sell, it's not interesting, and if you think about it, it's a genetic story of a peculiar family. After all, he seemed to be a doctor and Mr./Ms..

When dinner was over and I was cleaning up, I heard a pop in the neighborhood! Pont! There is a sound of fireworks going up. When I go to open the closed window of the bedroom, fireworks are going off at a close distance.

Perhaps it is the Shibakawa fireworks during the summer vacation that Urawa City has been doing for a long time. Oh, I hope this summer ends with this.

  August 9 (Fri) (Friday) Sunny

Buri is the first hot day in almost four days, and it will be nationwide.

It is introduced that the area that I heard about for the first time was suddenly the highest temperature in the country.

Today, the area introduced for the first time seemed to exceed 40 degrees.

I spend my time at home with air conditioning, but on Facebook, they introduce me as "the person you used to be today." That's right, I was living on a plateau in Kirigamine by now.

It wasn't because of the Olympics, but during this time of the summer, I chose to spend my time at home practicing table tennis or playing pool.

was watching the Olympic battles, and yesterday the broadcast was canceled due to the epicenter of Miyazaki. Today, there was an earthquake in the Kanto region and it was canceled on the way!

When I saw it online, the table tennis men's team match and third-place match were against France.

In an overwhelming away match, they seemed to lose and did not win a medal.

August 7 (Wed) Cloudy and then sunny

Last night there was a pleasant breeze, so I was able to sleep without air conditioning for the first time in a long time.

Perhaps it was because of the tropical cyclone that formed in the south, but the wind from the north was pleasant.

Well, during the day, the sun came out and the temperature rose as if it had never happened.

By the time we finished cleaning up after the meal, the sky had cleared up.

Today's pool was also very hot and uncomfortable. In pools that do not have a device to reduce the water temperature, tap water is filled to lower the water temperature.

However, the underground tap water is no longer very effective due to the rise in the surface of the earth, and we can only wait for the temperature to drop.

I was mowing the lawn in front of the sports center, but it seemed to be difficult in the extreme heat.

  August 6 (Tue) Cloudy

Recently, the temperature and humidity have been high. Recently, there may be a decrease in the resistance of the skin, but it is itchy!

If you buy an ointment for eczema and other itching at a pharmacy, it costs about 1500 yen. However, if it is appropriate, it will be unavoidable.

Today I went to the nearby Kyodo Hospital from the first thing in the morning. I got a diagnosis about 30 minutes after I went to the hospital, and I received an ointment by prescription at the pharmacy.

A total of 760 yen. I received an appropriate prescription ointment for less than half the price of buying a dubious ointment at the pharmacy myself.

The stock price has been very volatile lately. I don't manage stocks, so I'm keeping a cool eye on trends.

It is said that the stock that some landlady bought with an investment of 3 million yen has caused 900,000 yen in damage in the past few days. I can only say that it is Okawaiso.

You can't go to make money with just your fingertips. Money is earned through sweat. Ohtani's stock rally feels good.

Due to the Bank of Japan's interest rate guidelines, the yen is appreciating. For ordinary people, it is acceptable to pay about 10 yen more.

  August 5 (Mon) Sunny

That's why yesterday's table tennis practice was barely able to get up in the morning hours the next day.

Even so, I try to refrain from exercising so much that I can't get up on Monday morning, but this morning I was fine.

I woke up at the usual time with a little whip on my body, did radio exercises, and prepared breakfast.

While eating, I talked about various things while communicating with my radio friends, and I informed one radio station of the following information.

In the city administration newsletter delivered over the weekend, we reported on the "Notice of Kawaguchi Central Bridge Replacement Work". He commutes from Tokyo to his workplace in Toda every day across this bridge.

He was surprised. And the construction will take six and a half years from this September.

Speaking of which, it is said that the construction of the North Sports Center in my neighborhood will also take four years. I passed by the construction site on my way to shop today, but the foundation is still under construction and it will take three years to complete.

I wonder if any of them will be completed during my lifetime...

  August 4 (Sun) Sunny

Stable high temperature days continue. The air conditioner was on in the living room early this morning.

There is a table tennis practice, so should I turn off the air conditioner after breakfast and go out?

Of course, when shopping in the neighborhood, leave the air conditioner on. There is no reliable data, but due to the characteristics of the air conditioner, it is said that the power does not increase if it is left on rather than when it is turned on frequently.

Well, that's why I don't know the break-even point if you leave it on.

Anyway, I can't respond to the fact that I came home after sweaty table tennis practice in the morning and came home to a comfortable highland room.

Even if there is some waste in the electricity bill, it cannot be stopped.

  August 3 (Sat) Sunny

The sun continues to shine strongly. I don't overdo it, I spend my time at home.

I was informed that my elementary school classmate Line friend has returned from Corona.

In addition, there was a report that a radio friend was infected with corona and was in quarantine, and I was also keenly aware of the danger.

Last weekend, it was a Saturday day, so I thought it would be a loach pot in Akabane, but I refrained from doing so and put up with drinking at home.

Preparations for the World Masters for the next season have also begunin mid-March in Valtren, France. I sent a special feature of my sketches in the world to 49 of my fellow Masters friends in Japan who are aiming for this place.

This year, 18 people have spoken so far, and it seems to be a success.

The balance is lost on a smartphone, but as far as I can see on a PC, I can appeal with the function as I designed.

If I have time, I would like to further deepen the HTML programming language and create an easy-to-read website. Also, sharing with smartphones for everyone is the biggest challenge.

Now, if you are used to it, you can easily go from here to that scene, but I will tell you the loopholes. click here.

  August 2 (Fri) Sunny

The sun is shining brightly from the early hours of the morning.

I decided early on that I would stop doing outdoor activities just because of this glare alone.

Work that can be done by listening to the air conditioner in the room.

I had planned it for a long time, but I couldn't find the time to do it, so it was postponed.

On my website, there is one of the biggest elements of the main title, "The Road to Becoming a Painter."

The number of works recorded there has already exceeded 270. But that's just a list.

I would like to summarize this into "flower paintings", "landscape sketches", "...", etc., but the blueprints have recently been completed and I have started to develop them on HTML.

We need a little more time.

  August 1 (Thu) Sunny

Last night, there seemed to be a thunderstorm in the city area, and thanks to that, it was a slightly cooler night.

On the morning news, it seemed that heavy rain exceeding 100 mm fell locally in Kawaguchi City, Asaka City, Niiza City, etc., causing damage.

I asked my friend in Niiza City about the situation, but it seemed that there was no damage at his house, and we were both relieved.

It's a stable night today, so there seems to be no risk of thunderstorms.

After the treatment of the teeth that I had treated before, I had problems only during the winter season, and when I Mr./Ms. the dentist, I was told that I would have to heal them someday.

After a big decision, the procedure finally began. Teachers, let's not have an emergency rush this winter.

I was also prepared for that and hoped for a slick treatment.

  July 31 (Wed) Sunny

When I got up and went down to the living room, the thermometer was already showing 30 degrees. It wasn't so much, but the air conditioner was switched on.

I'm not sure if I'm getting used to the heat or if I'm getting dull.

Well, aside from the mood, if the actual situation is 30 degrees Celsius in the morning, you have to air conditioning without hesitation.

Thanks to this, I was able to have breakfast cheerfully without losing my appetite.

Today is the day to go to the pool. After breakfast, we cleaned up and took a break before heading out to the pool. The inside of the town was simmering under the scorching sun.

Then I jumped into the pool, but the water temperature was high again! The water temperature is gradually rising due to the intense heat every day, and there is no way to lower it.

Even after swimming in the pool, my whole body is hot and I can't stop sweating. This situation will probably continue for almost two more months.

  July 30 (Tue) Sunny

Are you vulnerable to human suggestion, for example, if you say "Reading in the Rain...", why don't you spend your time at home reading a book on a rainy day?

Recently, the temperature has been high, and I have to cool down in the house and wait for the heat to pass. I can't find a convincing wording.

I'm an old-timer, so I can't shake the feeling of working outside on a sunny day. I feel guilty and even guilty about being in the house even though it's so sunny.

It's sunny, but don't work outside. What do you do with the words of a day like this? I want an idiom that is perfect and convincing.

Already in the morning, the thermometer in the living room showed 30 degrees. In terms of experience, I felt comfortable in the morning, but I obediently followed the display of the thermometer and turned on the air conditioner.

There is no special outside work today. And the key to going out is to buy food. I thought I'd beat the heat by reading a book.

Watching the Olympics during a reading break. In the gymnastics men's team competition, the captain of the team fell off! However, due to the failure of the iron bar in China, it seems that if you do your best until the end, you will be able to manage it.

If you don't give up on anything and keep going, you can win the championship. I've been through it many times.

  July 29 (Mon) Sunny

Last night it was hot during the day, but there was no sunset. Thanks to this, the temperature did not drop even in the middle of the night, and it was a tropical night.

I couldn't stand it and drove the air conditioner when I went to bed, but I wonder if it will be the fifth time I've driven it this year.

I think I slept about 7~8 nights with the air conditioner running in the summer so far. But this year, even though it was only July, it was already the fifth day of air-conditioned sleep.

Sure enough, when I wake up in the morning, my body feels a little heavy. There was a difference in the freshness of the morning when I slept in the night wind.

I visited my doctor, the local Uemura Internal Medicine Clinic, first thing in the morning.

Recently, he was promoting the stabilization of my blood pressure while appropriately introducing me to a detailed examination of my body that was over 80 years old.

While looking at the measured values of the results of the spring checkup, we received appropriate guidance on future health management, and we have been prescribed continuous medications until now.

  July 28 (Sun) Sunny

Thanks to the thunderstorm last night, I was able to sleep in the cool breeze for the middle of the night.

It was very hot from the morning today, but apparently there was no thunderstorm in the evening, so it was a tropical night at this minute.

I was already drenched in sweat by the time I arrived at the sports center.

Recently, due to the growing awareness of heat stroke countermeasures, 14 members of the Arara Table Tennis Club participated in the sports center on a day like this.

There are only 10 table tennis tables in the gymnasium, but our club alone has secured 7 tables.

Somehow, the table tennis practice was over. After I got home, I took a nap after lunch as if I was dead.

July 27 (Sat) Sunny, evening thunderstorm

The 2024 Olympic Games in Paris will be held. Unfortunately, it was raining, but it was the first open opening ceremony on the Seine.

There were accidents such as multiple accidents such as railways on the previous day, but I would like to congratulate you on the safe event.

Especially in the disappointment of the last Tokyo Olympics without spectators, I would like to expect Japan to play a great role.

This time, due to the time difference, I was completely recorded to watch the game.

And the climactic lit torch is elaborate in any tournament, but here in Paris, it was lit in the air on the Place des Champs-Elys, where you can see the Eiffel Tower on the left background and the Arc de Triomphe on the right back.

This winter's World Ski Masters will be held in France. I'm secretly considering participating.

  July 26 (Fri) Sunny

Japan is also experiencing hot days, but it seems that forest fires have also occurred in Canada.

It is said to be near Jasper, Alberta, western Canada.

If I had seen this news last year, I would have thought it was just a forest fire in another country.

But I've seen Canada (albeit partially) with my own eyes. From Vancouver on the West Coast, I flew across the Rocky Mountains to Calgary, and then I got on the bus again and had a ski competition in the Rocky Mountains.

At that time, the sky was cloudy in Vancouver, which carries the moist air of the Pacific Ocean in Canada in the winter. As we crossed the Rocky Mountains, the weather continued to dry and clear, and we arrived in Calgary.

Although the scale is different, the Sea of Japan and the coastal region. And in the Kanto region through the Chubu mountains, the difference in weather is obvious, and I felt a similar feeling.

And the location of this wildfire is Jasper, Alberta, near the periphery of the Rocky Mountains from the place where the ski competition was held.

We can only hope that it will calm down soon.

  July 25 (Thu) Sunny

The weather forecast says that the situation is unstable today. However, it was a day with stable high temperatures, which was completely different from yesterday.

Even in the afternoon, evening, and night, there was no thunderstorm like yesterday.

Even so, the temperature rose during the day, so there is no need or emergency.

I only went to a nearby supermarket to buy food.

In the past two days, I have heard the news of corona infection from close friends and colleagues of the same age. I've been feeling a little loose lately, but I need to tighten it up even more.

Reading the rain and plowing, I will add a very hot day to it these days.

I bought a new book on the Internet and downloaded it to an electronic book.

For the past few years, I have relied on such a bookstore Mr./Ms. instead of a bookstore Mr./Ms..

  July 24 (Wed) Sunny, Thunderstorm

When I got up and went down to the living room, the temperature in the room was already 29 degrees Celsius. Without hesitation, I turned on the air conditioner.

The weather is sunny and the temperature rises over time.

After cleaning up breakfast and everything, I left because today was the day to go to the pool.

My favorite pool is the farthest pool on the diagonal that runs almost across Kawaguchi City. This place is set up for competitive swimming and is easy to swim, but the water temperature has not dropped today.

Last week, the water temperature was moderately comfortable for swimming, but today the water temperature was quite high due to the continuous heat.

but I still have to put up with the fact that in the summer at its peak, the water temperature will rise even more than it is, and it will be impossible to swim.

When I got home and had lunch, it was cloudy outside and the wind seemed to be getting stronger. I thought it was going to rain, so I closed the windows on the second floor and in the bedroom ...

Then it started to rain heavily. According to the news, it seemed that there was considerable damage in neighboring cities.

  July 23 (Tue) Sunny

Last night, there was a thunderstorm just before going to bed, so I went to bed under the air conditioner for the first time in a long time.

It was set at 28 degrees, but I woke up cold on the way. I turned off the air conditioner, opened the window, and slept comfortably.

I woke up feeling good in the morning after the rain. If you go down to the living room, Nantes is even cooler ...

I've done it again!. Last night, it seems that he left the air conditioner on in the living room and went to the bedroom.

I've done that three times this year. I don't have to worry about turning it on because it's hot, but I turned it off at bedtime.

With this, it seems that you can sleep peacefully even if you leave the air conditioner on with peace of mind from tonight.

This summer, the heat wave continues, so you probably spend a lot of time at home instead of going out. This month's expenses were also suppressed, so this month's living expenses were renewed at the end of the month.

It was a credit union, but I was surprised to see that everything came out with new banknotes. And it's a sequential number! I'll probably never do this again, all the best!

  July 22 (Mon) Sunny

I usually wake up, and last night I was able to sleep well in the natural breeze with the window open.

When I went down to the living room and looked at the room temperature before opening the window, it was already showing 29 degrees.

Naturally, in the morning, I turn on the air conditioner without opening the window.

After reading the newspaper, I started at 6:30 a.m., and I always moved the table in the living room and did gymnastics in a large space. Today is also a traveling public radio gymnastics.

From the radio, we also introduce many words from listeners, Mr./Ms.. What surprised me was the complaint of children's screams in the park, as had been the case before.

Well, there is nothing incomprehensible. However, this time, some places stopped the radio gymnastics due to a report of noise damage from a resident near the park.

I feel like the world is a little squeamish.

Today, we had a meeting at our house for the table tennis club's annual trip in September. Well, it's nominal, can it be a heat relief?

  July 21 (Sun) Sunny

The first-class heat started in the morning today.

When I got up and went down to the living room, the room temperature was already close to 30 degrees. The air conditioner is immediately switched on.

Today is Sunday, but I wake up with the alarm at the same time as usual. Then, while drinking tea, I read the newspaper and at 6:30 I do radio exercises.

Nationwide, elementary and junior high schools are in the first week of summer vacation, and radio gymnastics has finally begun to travel to various places.

I prepared breakfast, had breakfast at 7 o'clock, and after a leisurely meal, I cleaned up and watched a TV show for a while.

By the end of the small trip to the NHK program on Sunday morning, I had already finished preparing for table tennis practice and was waiting.

Incidentally, I also adjusted the sports drink to a bottle and carefully filled it with rock ice.

If you put this drink in your bag, it will be soaked by condensation on the bottle, so you have to hold it independently.

Today, I finished my drink in an hour and a half, so I ended my practice here.

, I found a new 5,000 yen bill for change. It was the moment when the new bill arrived in my hands for the first time.

  July 20 (Sat) Sunny

Last night, I involuntarily turned on the air conditioner in my bedroom!

Finally, a full-fledged tropical night has hit our house.

Well, it's comfortable, but the air conditioner blower is noisy.

But maybe because I was getting older, I didn't have to worry about it and went to bed.

Today is Saturday, so it's the only day I don't set my morning alarm. I didn't look at the time when it was still dark, but I woke up in the bathroom, but then I noticed that the shape of the sun was clear on the blackout curtains!

Oh my gosh, it was already half past six. The time for radio gymnastics is over, and I have no choice but to prepare breakfast at my own pace.

When you read the newspaper, prepare breakfast, finish your meal, and finish cleaning up... Half-past eight. After all, it seems that the part of the morning time that is the same as usual takes 2 hours.

I received my new insurance card today. According to the guide, this will be the last time it will be issued, and after December, it will be unified with the My Number Card and the insurance card will disappear.

Is that okay? This year, I went to five hospitals: Kawaguchi Cardiology and Respiratory Hospital, Uemura Internal Medicine Clinic, Shimizu Orthopedic Clinic, Kobayashi Dental Clinic, and Saitama Kyodo Hospital.

Most private hospitals and clinics accept My Number Cards, but even the big hospital I went to two weeks ago still only accepts insurance cards, is that okay?

  July 19 (Fri) Sunny

At night, it was the first thing, but the temperature and humidity were rising from the morning, which was uncomfortable.

I turned on the air conditioner early on to make the room comfortable.

By the time I took out the garbage at the general household garbage collection point after breakfast, it was quite uncomfortable outside.

Today, I was going to carefully consider the future treatment plan with the dentist Mr./Ms. who had made an appointment after this.

Before that, last week and today, for the first time since Corona, we have been cleaning first, such as removing tartar.

I think I've been brushing my teeth every morning and evening and taking care of them with an interdental brush, but according to experts, it's still the result of a lot of imperfections.

During the ski season, the dentist who had been taking care of me urgently due to problems from time to time Mr./Ms. the plan was to fix the emergency area perfectly during this off-season.

It is said that the number of 80-20 is the ideal for the teeth of the elderly. Even at the age of 80, I should maintain 20 of my teeth, but I still have 23.

After that, if possible, make it perfect so that it doesn't get out of trouble in the future. In other words, this is where I got sick last season and had emergency treatment.

The teacher will have to go at least 5 times. I'm ready for it.

  July 18 (Wed) Sunny

It was a pretty cool night last night as well. I was able to open the window and go to bed comfortably.

Therefore, I was able to spend the morning with a pleasant and refreshing temperature.

From the end of breakfast, the temperature rose sharply as the sun spread.

I had gotten used to the cool temperature recently, so I turned on the air conditioner involuntarily.

In the meantime, the weather forecast at noon reports that the rainy season in the Kanto-Koshin and Tokai regions has ended.

Usual year eh~? Is it still like this even though the weather is already like this? But this year, I felt like I was ahead of the curve (laughs).

Well, I was prepared for such weather, so I decided to spend it in my room.

July 17 (Wed) Cloudy ~ Sunny

Last night, I went to bed in an unbelievable temperature, and of course I kept the windows closed in my bedroom to protect myself from the cold (laughs).

According to the weather forecast, will today be the day of the break? But tonight seems to be a comfortable night.

In last week's pool, the water temperature was finally high in the middle of summer, and the water temperature was uncomfortable even if you were swimming. , the water temperature was back to comfortable.

Thanks to the low temperature for a while, the water temperature of the pool, which had once started to rise, seemed to return to a comfortable water temperature for the time being.

Well, today is an anniversary for me. I held a small feast as a small celebration for myself.

Exactly 20 years ago today, it was the day that my website "Kozaburo no Sekai" was opened to the Internet society.

The Internet society has undergone various changes over the past 20 years. It can be beneficial, it can be evil, but society is moving forward to preserve the optimal environment in the hope of doing something beneficial.

Twenty years ago, most of the websites that were sent out by an immeasurable number of people have disappeared. It may be a problem of the person himself, but the important thing is that there are no more people who visit there.

In that respect, I think that the biggest supporter for me is the support of a total of 230,000 people in the past. Please continue to watch over my life in detail.

was mentioned in the lower left corner of the cover as my last words. .

  July 16 (Tue) Cloudy

I'm glad that the last couple of days have been so easy and easy to be active.

Yesterday I heard the first chirping of cicadas for a while, but today it was even cooler without it.

Today is the general household garbage collection day at our house, so we have been cleaning up the flower bed at the front door and taking out the garbage accordingly.

As expected, the flowers that had been blooming since early spring looked like they had aged for a while, but it was a hard time.

There were quite a few weeds mixed in, but the soil was soft, so I pulled them out immediately and it turned into a beautiful field.

I went to a home improvement store and bought a tray full of flower seedlings that I could get for free instead of a shopping bag.

I just dug a hole and replanted it, but it will gain momentum in the coming mid-summer.

  July 15 (Mon) Cloudy

Today is also a practice day for the club table tennis team. I'm weighing myself, and practicing table tennis every day often breaks my body.

In fact, in yesterday's practice, we have lost all of our matches so far, but yesterday's result is almost 5 minutes.

Yoshi around here! If you don't keep it, if your body fatigue accumulates as it is, it's a big fuss to get it back.

That's why today I lit the pottery kiln that I had prepared for a long time and baked the book.

Despite the slow start, the temperature reached the target of 1250 degrees Celsius after 3 p.m. After this, try to maintain the temperature with a kerosene burner.

I have a Cannon zoom shot for bird watching at home, which is useful because I can stay in the living room and know the temperature of the kiln.

The temperature of the kiln is usually too far away to be seen in the living room.

However, if you zoom in with this camera, you can see the temperature well. The book burning was successfully completed today.

  July 14 (Sun) Rain

There was a practice session for the table tennis club to which I belong today, so I went out.

In the past few years, I have been living a wandering life for a while due to the reconstruction of the local sports center.

Even so, if you arrive before the meeting time and concentrate on securing a table tennis table, you will be able to secure the desired number of tables more than you expected.

Although it was raining and the humidity was high, the temperature was low, so I managed to concentrate on practicing.

In fact, today and tomorrow are consecutive practice days, and I'm happy that I've finally been able to come back from a leg injury and I'm moving smoothly.

When I came back from skiing and started practicing table tennis, I was so battered that I couldn't beat anyone.

I didn't feel rushed, but I took my time and gradually got used to my body, and I felt that I was heading toward the real thing. Tomorrow we will take a break from practice and rest.

  July 13 (Sat)

It was sunny and the temperature rose. However, the location of the high pressure system is a place where cool winds are sent to the Kanto region.

A northerly wind close to the northeast wind was blowing from midnight last night, and I was able to sleep comfortably in the middle of the night.

It was sunny in the morning and the temperature rose, but fortunately the wind direction was northerly with low humidity.

Yesterday was a group of unglazed teacups, but I thought that it would be a while before they were painted, glazed, and put in the kiln, but today!

I never thought that such a wonderful and comfortable day would come during the rainy season, so I was happy to work on it.

And as the work progressed, I even set it in the kiln.

With this, I would like to turn on the fire and enjoy a grand honyaki on a damp day at any time.

  July 12 (Fri) Cloudy, Rainy

It was cool in the middle of the night and I was able to sleep soundly in the gentle breeze of nature.

It was raining steadily from the morning, but sometimes it started to rain in earnest and it was not stable.

While I was shopping for food, the rain was light, so I opened the door of the pottery kiln.

This time, we used a particularly iron-rich soil, so the unglazed vessel had a particularly beautiful scarlet color.

However, this scarlet color varies greatly depending on the amount of oxygen supplied during the firing of the main fire, so I am looking forward to it.

Today I spent a day reading a book as a break.

July 11 (Thu) Cloudy and rainy

It looks like it is going to rain in the morning. While toning, I communicated with my friends who were traveling by car and said that the rain was pouring down.

When I look at the garden at home, oh my gosh! It has already started to rain around here.

After breakfast, I cleaned up and got ready in front of the pottery kiln before 9 o'clock and went to work in the garden.

I thoroughly sprayed the area around it, and I also applied insect repellent spray to my own body.

Since it was unglazed today, we raised the temperature with caution against a steam explosion around 100 degrees Celsius and a decomposition gas explosion caused by organic matter in the soil around 400 degrees.

Today, thanks to the delay of the start by about 2 hours, it was still about 200 degrees Celsius at lunchtime. But after that, the temperature rose steadily, and by 1 o'clock, we had successfully passed the last difficult 400°C.

After that, I was relieved and only raised the temperature. At 5 o'clock, the target of 750 degrees Celsius was exceeded, so I turned off the heat and finished today's work.

  July 10 (Wed) Sunny, Cloudy

I've done it again!. When I wake up in the morning and go down to the living room, I feel as if I am on a plateau and have greeted the morning.

The set temperature is 28°C, so you don't feel like you're cooling. So I forgot to turn off the air conditioner before heading to bed.

It seems that the temperature is high in the middle of the night these days, but the bedroom on the third floor of our house is still an environment where you can sleep comfortably with windows open in three directions and a light breeze fan.

I've only slept in the air conditioner twice on a rainy and steamy day.

Well, today is the day to go to the pool. It's only one day every Wednesday, but until last week, it felt good when I got in the pool. But what about today, the water temperature has already risen and it is not comfortable.

From now on, you will have no choice but to swim in this pool with high water temperatures until the middle of September.

I'm not a picky eater, so I've never had to worry too much about preparing meals.

Even in the morning, I just take out the staple rice and the side dish from the refrigerator and chin it. However, I change the ingredients for miso soup every morning depending on my mood.

on the radio this morning on Natto Day. So, let's make natto today.

July 9 (Tue) Sunny ~ Partly cloudy

At this time of the ski season, I walked a tightrope between the hospital, with the dentist Mr./Ms. yesterday, Saitama Kyodo Hospital today, and tomorrow ....

In particular, it is necessary to take the time to maintain it now.

I had a medical checkup last month. Detailed data such as blood tests have also been sent, and I am delighted.

As for the numbers that are pushed around, I would like to raise the score as an elderly person.

However, as a doctor, I would like to live a life with a lower γ-GTP value, but thanks to my tempered lifestyle these days, it is slightly over, so I would like to give it another 10,000 points.

So today I re-examined the gastroscope. Moreover, it is said that the examination is not with a thin camera inserted through the nose, but with a thick stomach camera that is inserted through the mouth, which has never been experienced before.

I don't know the result yet!! The endoscopic diagnosis name is "suspected esophageal squamous cell carcinoma" This year, for the first time, it was crowned with suspected cancer.

The number of cases of esophageal cancer is only 1/10 that of gastric cancer, and the number of cases is small and difficult to judge. It doesn't seem to be acute, but it needs to be accurately assessed.

The policy is "Referral letter to the Department of Gastroenterology, Saitama Prefectural Cancer Center" ... In particular, it seems that this time the tissue was not collected and pathological examination was performed. It's unavoidable, it seems that you can't live a long life for free after the age of 80.

  July 8 (Mon) Sunny

It is around this time that it is becoming more and more like midsummer day by day.

Looking at the tremendous sunset the other day and this steady hot sunshine, I think that the rainy season has opened.

As for me, I've been going to the doctor with Sesse for a while. In other words, it's not that I'm sick somewhere, it's that I can't take the time to see a doctor during the winter ski season, so I'm going to do it now.

First of all, heart surgery for arrhythmia is carried out as scheduled, and the examination schedule for two weeks, one month, and two months after the examination is all done smoothly, and the examination schedule for four months later is also incorporated.

In the meantime, I have completed a comprehensive medical checkup, and now I have a plan to re-examine the esophagus, which is a concern every year with a gastroscope, by re-examination tomorrow.

And then there is the examination of the teeth. Twice in the past few years, I've had emergency first aid in the middle of ski season, but it's important to be aware of that.

As I already mentioned, the old dentist in my neighborhood is a jerk! It's a little far because I can't leave it with peace of mind (in other words, I can't have a vision of what to do), but it's still about 30 minutes by car to the dentist Mr./Ms..

A few years ago, during a ski competition, I had a serious dental crisis, and a friend introduced me to a doctor who returned to the competition as a first aid Mr./Ms..

That? It's been two years already, isn't it? I was moved to tears by the fact that I was loved by the inspection and cleaning of my teeth. I'm going to clean my upper teeth again next week (laughs).

  July 7 (Sun) Sunny

Thanks to the thunderstorm before last night, I was able to go to bed with a cool night breeze at night.

I woke up at 5:45 a.m., did radio exercises, and after breakfast, I went to club table tennis practice.

The dilution of the sports drink made these days is not water, but rock ice from the refrigerator in a bottle.

Since the humidity of the atmosphere is already high, if you put the drink in the bag, it will become squishy due to condensation water, so you have to lower it with another hand and carry it.

Twelve club members who are strong and patient in the heat also participated in the practice.

An hour and a half after the practice started, when I thought I was at my physical limit, a female club member handed out homemade umeboshi to everyone.

was a very reasonable break salt supplementation.

However, I had already withdrawn from practicing because I was physically unable to practice any more.

  July 6 (Sat) Sunny, thunderstorm

It has been extremely hot every day. As the sun comes out today, the temperature is also rising.

However, by 3 o'clock, the clouds had become suspicious, and there was a thunder、... And then there was the torrential rain.

Recently, I have made some rice bowls in pottery. I didn't think that a casual everyday rice bowl could be so profound.

No matter how many you make, you won't be able to come up with this. However, I'm a good person to give up, so I'm not going to pursue that part too deeply, and I'm going to connect it to the next one.

This is the weather and temperature. The best way to dry your shaped work is to dry it in the sun.

After lunch, it seemed to be completely dry, so I put everything in the kiln.

Now you can always turn on the fire and the unglazed food is ready. As if guessing such timing, the clouds in the sky become suspicious and thunder is heard.

Well well! It's been a long time since I've had a thunderstorm, and it's raining quite heavily, but it subsided by dinner. I think I'll be able to sleep well tonight.

  July 5 (Fri) Sunny

Last night, thanks to the newly purchased fan, I was able to have a quiet night and a comfortable and restful night.

This silence is very important. Even when the air conditioner is turned on, the sound of the wind is tremendous, and the wind without sound is good.

Even in this tropical night, even though our house is a densely populated residential area, the air still flows at night thanks to the nearby forests and high ground environment.

Thanks to this, on the third floor, where the bedroom is located, you can sleep quite comfortably by leaving the windows in three directions open.

So, if it doesn't rain, there are probably only about five times a year when I go to bed with the air conditioner.

Elections of leaders are actively held in major countries around the world. And I feel that every country is rushing forward with change.

Especially today, the Labour Party in the United Kingdom regained power for the first time in 14 years. However, what about the current British economy, the people have demanded a change due to high prices and soaring housing costs. But will the foundation of this be realized even if the administration changes?

How many years ago in Japan? I had the bitter experience of being swayed by an alien called "Trust Me" and being swayed by a ridiculous administration.

Aside from India, it is impossible to predict what will happen to the leaders of France, Iran, the United States, etc., and whether the world order will be maintained.

  July 4 (Thu) Sunny

When you are making pottery, the tools for molding clay with a wheel are the most important, but it is also important to make and complete the tools that suit you.

Until last year, I had completed a plate to be installed on top of the wheel to make a platter, and it was on track, but today I made a machined blade on a high platform.

For a long time, the machined blade that I had been using by processing the bones of the bat umbrella was finally worn out and could no longer be used, so I made my own again in search of ease of use.

In addition to the umbrella bones, I made steel sharpening blades. The latter was completed by using the broken pencil knife used in the painting and processing it by heating it.

Yesterday was the first tropical night in a long time, and I thought it was a fan because it was not yet at the stage of air conditioning, but it was damaged and it was not after I took it out for scrapping.

So, after researching various things on the web, I got into an electronics store Mr./Ms. with 50,000 yen.

The fan I was aiming for is smart, but the sound is annoying, Oh, 7 blades of DC motor...

In the end, I chose this model that costs less than 10,000 yen. It looks like you can sleep in the quiet cool breeze from tonight. Air conditioning...? , such a thing only after it gets hotter.

  July 3 (Wed) Sunny

Last night there was a pleasant breeze and the bedroom opened the window so that I could sleep soundly until morning.

This morning, however, although it was pleasant in the morning, it became hot and humid with the sun by the time we finished breakfast.

As you can see on the weather map today, the rainy season front is moving north, and it seems to be affected by the front from the Kanto region.

However, in the Kanto region, it seems that there are still sunny periods in the gap between the rainy season, and the temperature has risen and the humidity has risen accordingly.

Today's plan was pool day, and I was happy to leave. The moment you enter the water is already Tsumete! I was able to swim comfortably without getting tired.

However, after a full-body workout and lunch, I took a nap like I was dead for a while. A life that doesn't overdo it.

  July 2 (Tue) Sunny

Heavy rain has been hit by various parts of the Japan archipelago. In the Kanto region, there are still signs of the rainy season in the past few days, but there is no damage.

However, the humidity continues to be very high, and even if you are at home, the dehumidification operation of the air conditioner is indispensable.

There was sunshine today, but it wasn't that sunny, so we didn't get too hot.

I was making pottery in my atelier, but I was able to go down to the living room from time to time and spend time with the cool breeze of the air conditioner. Well, when it gets really hot, the atelier has to take care of the air conditioner.

A friend on Facebook uploaded a photo of the party at the Ginza Mikasa Kaikan the day before yesterday, so I will borrow it.

there were 99 participants. This group photo was taken after the closing of the group, so the number of people was still calm.

I also climbed on the stage to unveil my medal.

  July 1 (Mon) Cloudy

I overslept in the morning. Moreover, for a while, I went to bed after 8 or 9 o'clock in the morning, so I was in good physical condition.

I woke up around 8 o'clock and I didn't feel very good. The right lifestyle seems to be good for my body.

When I wake up at 8 o'clock like this, my mind is not clear, even though I overslept in the morning.

And the unpleasant thing is that breakfast near 9 o'clock, which is also unpleasant. I still have an appetite and want breakfast, so that's helpful.

The weather tends to be cloudy today, and my head tends to be somewhat cloudy, so I spent today in the atelier as a pottery making day.

I used to be immersed in sake cups, but now I'm a rice bowl. We have made many of them, but they do not reach the level of usability made by our predecessors.

The more you make it, the more you will get stuck in the depths of it. I think there are some things that you can see by continuing to make them until you feel like it.

It's difficult to make something like this by thinking about the shrinkage rate while keeping a sample by the side to make it like this, which is 1.2 times the size of this.

June 30 (Sun) Cloudy and rainy

A celebration of Tame Japan's success in the 2024 ski season was held at Mikasa Kaikan in Ginza.

This year's highlights will be the celebration of the women's athletes who have scored the highest points in each class at the World Championships, as well as the appearance of the long-awaited men's medalists.

I was happy to be a part of the men's medalists, but I was also happy to receive the blessings from my teammates who usually train like this.

and I heard that there were 99 participants this time, including professional coaches and officials who came to congratulate us. More than half of me said it was the first time I had met him.

the party ended at 9 o'clock. At this time, after it rains, the Sukiyabashi intersection is also reflected by the lights of the cars on the road, and a pleasant night breeze is blowing.

Oh my gosh, I made it to Kawaguchi again in time for the last bus.

  June 29 (Sat) Sunny

Recently, it has not become a tropical night at night, and while a pleasant breeze blows, the bedroom has opened the window to let in the outside air and sleeps comfortably.

As expected, it was early in the morning, when the birds were not yet noisy, so it was probably around 4 o'clock, and it got cold and the windows were closed, but I was able to sleep well.

The weather was cloudy and the temperature did not rise until much of the morning. In the morning, I wore a long-sleeved shirt for a while and finished my morning chores.

Naturally, in this weather, I feel uncomfortable working outside. For the time being, I'm half-reading the novel, so let's finish it.

Among the weeds in the flower bed, it seems that the leaves of the green jiji are growing again this year. If it had been a little earlier, I wouldn't have bought green jiso leaves as a condiment at the supermarket last week.

I was usually ahead of the curve due to insect damage, but today I took the lead and collected delicious young leaves.

Today's dinner was accompanied by bonito, which made the dinner even more delicious.

  June 28 (Fri) Rain

The rainy season has begun, and it has become a full-fledged rainy day. The front, which had been rampaging in Kyushu, advanced to the Tokai region today, and the Kanto region also experienced heavy rain from the morning.

In fact, I have been waiting for this heavy rain to come, and I will say something unscrupulous.

This year, our house has completed the main sewer work and has begun full-scale operation. Until now, wastewater from the shelter and toilets were treated with a septic tank and flushed into the same drainage as rainwater.

With the sewer work, I was going to completely shut out the rainwater and direct the rainwater to the conventional drainage tract as a do-it-yourself if necessary.

In fact, the accumulation of rainwater is infiltrated underground from three directions in the manhole, and overflowing water gathers.

I haven't gotten to the point where I have to do drainage work with this much rain today.

We'll see what happens when it rains more heavily. Please be assured that our house is actually topographical and there is no need to worry about heavy rain.

  Thursday, June 27: Cloudy

The weather continues to be unclear, and since the rainy season has begun, it has not yet rained in a cohesive manner.

In exchange, a linear precipitation band has also occurred in the northern part of Kyushu and the western part of San'in, and quite dangerous rain is falling continuously. I think this one will be soon.

Most of the trees around our house are native trees. In other words, most of them are seeds in bird droppings that germinate and grow into trees.

Of course, sprouts will appear on the atchkotch, but those in disturbing places will naturally be disposed of before they become adult trees.

However, this is not the case at all. It is a young tree that survived thanks to the fact that when I was mowing the undergrowth after planting a tree in a mountain forest in Gunma Prefecture, it happened to stop just before the tip of the sickle blade could be removed.

Every young tree is pretty. Mischievously, I dug it up from its roots and planted it here in my garden.

It's been about 4 years now, but I've finally grown to this level. It is still a nameless tree.

Today, I collected the leaves of this tree and compared them in an illustrated book. Let's call it a clownfish for the time being.

  June 26 (Wed) Sunny

I went to Kawaguchi Cardiology and Respiratory Hospital for follow-up treatment.

Since it is about the heart, unlike diseases such as abrasions and fractures, the after-sales examination continues.

This examination was conducted after the analysis of the results of the 24-hour ECG examination conducted in the second month after surgery.

In particular, no abnormalities were found in the test results after two months with this test. And I was told that the medication that had been given until now should be finished today.

Just when I thought it was all over, he said that he would do a 24-hour ECG test in 4 months.

I'm already living without any problems, so it's time to make up my mind. There is a feeling that it is, but it seems that it is because it is so important.

  June 25 (Tue) Sunny

If you are a housewife every day, you will be aware of price fluctuations. I can't rest my mind about electricity, gasoline, and vegetables at the supermarket.

Some of the vegetables that have been soaring for a while have calmed down with the stabilization of the weather, but why? There is also an increase in the price of vegetables.

Even food for one person cannot be covered by going to the supermarket almost every day.

Although there is no cash payment, I feel that the speed at which the card charge amount decreases is clearly faster than last year.

Although the temperature was not as high as yesterday, the humidity was high, so I had to spend time in the room.

Reading, pottery, collecting clay, and so on, and yes, before the clay is fired, if you put it back in the water, it will turn back into clay and regenerate again.

I also go shopping at the supermarket. By the way, the price of cabbage, which has been soaring until now, has also stabilized due to the stable climate of recent years. Today I chop it up and sprinkle it with salt kelp to make up for the lack of vegetables for a while.

  June 24 (Mon) Sunny

You see, as you might think, the weather has been sunny and rainy every other day lately.

And when it was close to noon, it was the hottest day of the year. The living room of our house finally reached 31 degrees, so I hurriedly turned on the air conditioner.

Today I was molding a ceramic rice bowl in my atelier. In the middle of summer, the sunlight does not reach this far, so you can spend a comfortable time as long as it is relatively airy.

I tried to make only 3 pieces today so as not to be a big job, but it was the first time in a long time that I had done it, but it ended safely.

In the end, the temperature seemed to rise even more in the afternoon, so I finished my atelier work for today.

If I feel a little more like it, I think I will run the air conditioner in the atelier and do serious work, but it is still a preliminary.

It's been a long time since I've tried my skills, so I just got a feel for the rut.

  June 23 (Sun) Rain

It really rains and sunny every other day. Well, for me, there is no particular problem because it is sharp.

So I thought I'd spend some time reading an adult book today.

There is a phone call at the entrance, so when I look at the monitor, it says that it will be delivered to the door. Speaking of which, I remembered that there was something I ordered a while ago.

It was, after all. Mie Prefecture, Genkai Nada's "Mackerel Aburi" has arrived.

When we tried to buy fish at our store, we could imagine that Mr./Ms. was about 30 cm and mackerel was about 35 cm.

Then, it is not the case that all Mr./Ms. mackerel can only be harvested of that size, but there are many things that cannot be sold, such as 5 cm and 10 cm respectively.

I ordered a mackerel that was not for sale because it was sold with smoked mackerel.

I immediately served it with sake, but it was delicious!

  June 22 (Sat) Sunny

Recently, the weather has changed daily, but the atmospheric conditions seem to be busy. That's why it's clear and sunny from the morning today.

Saturday is always the day when you can oversleep without an alarm. When I wake up, the intense morning sun pierces the blackout curtains and brightens my eyelids.

I ended up having to wake up at the same time as usual. However, I always go to bed around 9 o'clock, so my sleep time has not increased much.

When I go down to the living room, the morning sunlight is already shining all over the balcony and it feels very bright.

Especially the scenery of the garden after the rain is really refreshing. Oops! I feel that there is some mysterious fruit in the potted olive plant on the balcony.

Is it an olive fruit bathed in the morning sun? If you look closely, it seems to be so.

For the first time this year the flowers bloomed. However, I was not expecting it because it seems that it is better to have another tree nearby in order to bear fruit.

When I immediately posted the joy on SNS, my friends warned me about sparrows. That's right, I have to watch out for that gangster bulbul at home.

  June 21 (Fri) Rain

Today is garbage day. Yesterday I decided to cut off the branches and leaves of the garden trees that grew a little too much and get rid of them.

Well, a bunch of garbage and branches and leaves, if you take it in both hands, there is no problem, but this will not let you use an umbrella. I just hope for a light rain in the morning.

By the time we finished cleaning up after the meal, it was still raining lightly, and fortunately it was raining enough to take out the trash without an umbrella.

After this, the rain tended to get heavier and heavier, and the windows in the house were tightened. There were some places where the rain blew in a little, such as the windows of the atelier, but it was dealt with early.

Today, from 2 p.m., I went to the gastroscope department of the medical checkup for an interview with the doctor in charge because abnormal tissue of the esophagus has been observed for nearly 10 years.

"If you don't find out the cause of the camera abnormality in this part of your body, you don't want to regret it later, you need to do a big image and, if necessary, a biopsy."

It's finally here!. It has been 10 years since I had a gastroscope checkup, and this concern has always been pointed out, and I agreed because I wanted to Mr./Ms. the doctor for a procedure that I did not want to regret.

Two weeks later, I decided to have a gastroscopy of the grand scope. When you think about the life ahead, you have to guarantee at least another 10 years.

When I returned from the hospital, the news said that the rainy season had started in the Kanto region, and that it was 14 days later than usual.

  Thursday, June 20 (Sunny)

The blue sky has been spreading since the morning today. It's already the rainy season, but what is this weather and the colorful climate?

But as expected, in the afternoon, the weather became a little humid, so I turned on the air conditioner.

The town shoes that I take care of on a daily basis are not damaged yet, so I decided to take a break until winter.

I went to buy shoes because I wanted to change into shoes that were a little brighter for the summer. After all, the shoe store Mr./Ms. in town is cheap, but it feels a little outdated from my point of view.

Our house is on the outskirts of the city, so a large commercial facility is the same distance as the retail store in town. Well, none of them can be purchased without a car, so I went to Aeon.

There are so many stores that you might get lost in the same building.

I'm going to move around lightly this summer in a slightly lighter color town shoe.

  June 19 (Wed) Sunny

The blue sky is spreading out from the morning. It's the start of a wonderful day, as if yesterday's rain was a lie.

Moreover, the humidity was low today, so it was a very easy day for the temperature.

Certainly, as the sun rose, the temperature rose to the top of the eel, and the thermometer in our house exceeded 30 degrees.

Today was the day to go to the pool, so I went to the East Sports Center, but I even felt cold when I entered the water.

I came back from the pool in the heat of the day, but I felt more comfortable running with the windows open than with the air conditioning in the car.

It was the best day today when I was able to spend a comfortable time without turning on the air conditioner. Dragonflies have also come to the garden, and it's finally summer.

  June 18 (Tue) Rain

Even before I woke up, it was already raining, and it was pouring down. Today's schedule is a medical checkup, and I will wait without breakfast.

It is a cooperative hospital in the neighborhood, but it is the first day of the comprehensive medical checkup associated with the adult disease examination at this facility after the equipment has been renovated.

At the previous facility, it was possible to wait in the building even if you went one hour before the appointment time. The front door of this new facility does not open until 15 minutes in advance.

As a result, I had to sit on a bench at the front door for an hour and wait. Anyway, I had no choice but to wait here, and I regretted that I had come early.

The road in front of the hospital is already in rush hour for commuting, but the parking lot of the hospital is a gallant.

After 10 o'clock, I was released after all the examinations such as a gastroscope, but the rain was getting stronger.

At 10:30 a.m., when the anesthesia of the gastroscope wore off, I returned to my house and had a breakfast with salmon tea pickles, which was really delicious.

  June 17 (Mon) Sunny

The temperature is such that the heat and humidity can be felt from the morning. The Japan Meteorological Agency is pleased that it was a sunny Monday for the first time in a long time for the first time in weeks.

Well, I'm hoping for a cooler day, even if it's not sunny, but I finally have to get ready for summer.

Until today, I have been using a winter futon. I peeled off the cover, threw it in the washing machine, and stored the contents to dry in the sun during the few remaining sunny days.

There was a lot of Mr./Ms.sheets and pillowcases in the washing machine, but I was able to finish washing everything and dry it in the sun, and I finished cleaning up.

Recently, the way the gear of my car has been entering is not good. Yes, my car is a manual shift lever car.

I went to a local maintenance shop for advice. It is no exaggeration to say that there are people who are familiar with manual cars and always give me advice, so to speak, it is the home port of my car.

There are three possible approaches. First of all, there is a screw that adjusts the connection between the clutch pedal and the clutch plate. Let's adjust that.

Oh, I left the car in the afternoon to see how it went, but it healed in the evening.

  June 16 (Sun) Sunny

The 49th Cupola Cup Table Tennis Tournament was held again this year and I participated.

Although it is an age group, table tennis fierce players from neighboring areas will participate in the open competition.

Even though it is an age group, I have no intention of trying to win by saying that I am over 70 years old. I am participating in the tournament with the hope that the match will be carried out with good energy and fun.

By the way, there are 20 people in this class, so we will divide it into 5 blocks and play a league match for each block to determine the 1st ~ 4th place. Then, five first-place players compete for the top spot in the tournament.

This time, too, we lost all of them without winning a single game. Even so, we were able to play the match in a fun and friendly manner.

After it was over, as usual, we had a reflection meeting with Chinese and Mr./Ms., which was also fun.

  June 15 (Sat) Sunny

I woke up around 6 a.m. in the morning with a friend from the United States who had not come to Japan in a long time. Enjoy Japan for a while with Japan tea and pickled plums.

Suddenly I was surprised by the topic of radio gymnastics. Today, the two of us started the day with radio exercises.

Even in the U.S., I was happy to see the radio gymnastics in the video on my website and see that it is done every morning, so this morning we both went to the living room table and did radio exercises.

It's been 50 years since I've met him in person, but I'm grateful that I've always felt like I've been close to him since we started connecting on social media.

Breakfast was my usual meal of rice, miso soup with radish, grilled fish with shishamo, pickled cucumber bran, and Caspian yogurt.

"Is it like this every day...?", "Yes, I eat bread about twice a week." After this, he said that he was going to his sister's house who lives in Beppu, and we saw him off at the station and parted ways.

"I also yearn for this kind of eating habit." Fifty years ago, he joined the art club of the company I hosted, and he was inspired by me and went overseas with a big dream. I always felt sorry for him, who was easily influenced in the corners of my heart.

But yesterday and today, as we sat down and talked over drinks, I was relieved to be convinced that it was due to his vitality.

He says he wants a younger leader in the U.S. presidential election in the fall. It must be a feeling that you have handed over your own seafood wholesale business to your Mr./Ms.. I put down such a cheering hat and went home as a souvenir.

  June 14 (Fri) Sunny

It has been 50 years since I came to the United States as a young man, and I was waiting for a friend to visit my house on the first day of his return.

I was told that I was scheduled to arrive in Haneda at 5 o'clock, so I thought that I would enter the country in about 2 hours at the earliest.

When I woke up at the scheduled time with my alarm, I looked at the data that came in the middle of the night, and it was a little before 6 o'clock in the early morning when I received an email from a friend, but it said, "I'm going through the immigration control and heading to the monorail."

That's right, in the case of one bag, it's faster because there is no luggage receptacle. Originally, he traveled to the United States with only a bicycle and a hand.

I picked him up in my car to Kawaguchi Station and watched him from the outside to his former workplace. I also peeked out from outside the main gate with Mr./Ms..

He joined the company I worked for, and although we were in a different workplace, he got to know me in the company's art department.

There was something that attracted me to the feeling of being a young person who casually flew out into the world more than a friend who painted. After that, I found out about his disappearance on SNS and had an online relationship.

I had just held a "Shimizukai Alumni Reunion" at my house with my friends from the art department of my former company who lived in the neighborhood. Thank you for the long trip, today he will go to bed early and tomorrow he will take the bullet train to his parents' house.

  Thursday, June 13: Cloudy

Last night, I woke up around 4 a.m. because it was hot and humid. For the first time this summer, I opened the windows to let in the cool air.

It was a morning when I was prepared for the arrival of an uncomfortable summer, but it was surprisingly cool.

Even after breakfast and cleaning up, the cloudy weather in the morning does not change.

In other words, the sun does not come out, so the temperature does not rise. I thought it was a typical summer morning situation, but I was happy to be able to live without air conditioning.

Even at noon, the sun had not yet come out and the temperature was low, so what happened?

When it was time for the 4 p.m. walk, the sun still didn't come out. As expected, I didn't go out with long sleeves, but the comfortable temperature remained the same.

In the second half of the walk, the clouds parted and the sun came out. But the temperature is no longer rising.

  June 12 (Wed) Sunny

It's a slightly warmer morning than yesterday morning. But it's still a refreshing morning that is in the comfortable category.

It was a little cloudy and the temperature rose slowly due to the lack of sunlight, but around 11 o'clock, the sun came out and the temperature soared.

An unpleasant situation is not only a factor in temperature, but also humidity. At the high temperature these days, the humidity is still in the 50% range, so it's not enough to make a fuss.

Fortunately, although it was a hot day, it was a day to swim in the pool, which is scheduled once a week, and I went to Tospo and spent a refreshing morning.

I turned on the air conditioner today and continued reading from yesterday, but there was also a pleasant exercise in the pool in the morning, so I fell asleep in less than 30 minutes. (laughs)

From now on, even if it doesn't rain, I will read under the air conditioner on hot days.

If you can live like this, will you have a safe retirement life?

  June 11 (Tue) Sunny

It was a clear blue sky day from the morning. The sky seen from our living room is already blue before 7 o'clock.

The temperature seemed to be comfortable, and I was thinking of going for a ride on my bicycle today.

Before that, I cleaned up after breakfast and put out the combustible garbage that I had prepared around the outside of the house for today's garbage disposal day.

It's only about 8:30, but at this point, today's cycling is no good! I decided. Surprisingly, the temperature rises unexpectedly.

Even though it is only the middle of June, the indoor temperature in our living room, which is relatively cool, exceeds 30 degrees.

I switched to air-conditioned reading, which I have been incorporating in recent years.

The automatic watering system in the flower bed seems to be watering well at the specified time on behalf of me, who has a habit of being lazy.

June 10 (Mon) Cloudy and then sunny

The lily flowers that bloomed the most this year were 25. I think the cause is that the bulbs were probably scattered by digging the flower bed last fall.

In a normal year, I would have been overjoyed if 10 flowers bloomed, but this year, I counted 25 flowers in full bloom.

In this flower bed of mine there are clearly too many lily flowers. It has been decided to marry the neighbor.

I promise that I will give it to you when the flowers are finished.

There were a few sunny days during the day, but in the end it was a cloudy day, and the walking course after 4 o'clock was so quiet and comfortable that it was delicious.

walking course... Today, airliners do not fly over here, and it is a quiet north wind.

  June 9 (Sun) Sunny

It seems that the temperature in the morning and evening remains surprisingly low. It is also quite easy to do activities during the day.

After the morning meal and cleanup, we headed to the sports center.

As I mentioned earlier, the facilities of our table tennis club's practice base will be reborn as a prefectural sports facility, so we will be walking around like gypsies for a while for four years.

We will use the neighborhood of the facilities in the city, but today we practiced at the Shingo Sports Center.

At this time, there are qualifying rounds for sports competitions led by the city town association, and the venue is limited because it overlaps with the tournament.

For example, when we use the court space for table tennis, 10 table tennis tables are lined up for the entire badminton court. That's why there is a two-hour wait for badminton and other games.

It was good that we were able to practice as usual. There were exactly 10 members of the club today, but for the first time this season, we were able to beat three of them.

  June 8 (Sat) Sunny

It was clear and sunny from the morning. The perceived temperature is quite low for this time of year, probably because the humidity is low.

I was prepared to do a big job that would make me sweat today. It was a big help that the temperature was surprisingly comfortable. During the day, the sun was as sunny as midsummer.

This week, a friend of mine who lives in the United States was planning to return to his hometown for the first time in a long time during this weak yen period and go to Kyushu, where his parents' house is located.

I can't come back to Japan that often, but in any case, I would like to visit my home on the first day of my return.

In the first place, that friend is a junior employee of the company I used to work for. The workplace was different, but since I joined the company's art club, I had sketching parties, bicycle trips, and various other relationships.

He went to the United States to implement the art department's free ideas as an outlet for his free ideas in practice. There was a period of time when we didn't communicate for a while.

However, in recent years, in the age of SNS, it has become easier to convey messages, and the sense of familiarity has become as deep as before.

Our house is usually used as a table tennis club, ski buddy, and exhibition hall so that many people can visit at any time, but we are staying overnight, so we cleaned it a little carefully.

June 7 (Fri) Cloudy / Sunny

The weather was similar to yesterday, but the only difference was that it was clear from the morning.

This year, the rainy season is forecast to start a little later. Perhaps that's why the rainy season front doesn't seem to come up from the South Sea.

The flower bed at the front door is now in the midst of a feast with each flower. On the other hand, in the garden, the pots of violets, which had been comforting since early spring, have lost their momentum due to the heat of the day.

This is still a photo in early spring, but by today, the flower buds have completely disappeared, and today it is almost shaved.

Speaking of summer flowers and hardy flowers, is it sunflowers? When I stopped by the flower shop Mr./Ms., they were selling small potted plants that had been bred.

I bought it immediately and planted it. How is this.

June 6 (Thu) Cloudy / Sunny

It was a dull day, it tended to be cloudy, and the temperature did not rise for a day.

There was a little sunshine in the afternoon, but the northeasterly wind made me wear long sleeves all day.

The temperature is low during the day, and in the evening, it seems that I miss the brightness a lot. It's also a bad idea to turn on the lights!

By the way, I tried to use a lamp for dinner without turning on the lights. It was like a camp for a botched person by himself, and it was also atmospheric.

The lily flowers in the doorstep flower bed are in full bloom today, I wish I didn't have to hurry so much.

Violets bloomed from the gap in the cobblestones on the approach to the entrance without being stepped on.

  June 5 (Wed) Sunny

It's been exactly two months since I had heart surgery. Thanks to this, I am able to enjoy my normal life and sports life without any inconvenience.

As part of the postoperative period, an electrocardiogram Holter will be recorded from today to tomorrow that will be worn for 24 hours at 2 months to examine the situation in everyday life.

First thing in the morning, I went to the hospital where I had the surgery. First of all, a normal and precise ECG measurement was performed over a period of about 15 minutes.

Next, I was fitted with a 24-hour monitored ECG Holter, which I had been told for a long time. Therefore, everything went smoothly enough to return home before 9 o'clock.

Well, the weather is very stable. On a day like this, an electrocardiogram in cycling is also a part of your normal life, so you don't have to hesitate about anything.

I have also seen the scenery of the Minuma rice fields, which have grown splendidly along the Minuma irrigation water.

cycling gloves are too old and faded, so I made a new one. I've been using it for 12 years and it hasn't been damaged yet.

  June 4 (Tue) Sunny

In terms of schedule, it was scheduled for yesterday, but the weather was better today, so it was decided.

Mr./Ms., a commuter, went to take the Utsunomiya streetcar during a calm time.

Unfortunately, the JR Utsunomiya Line took a transfer to Koganei and landed at Utsunomiya Station. The station in front of you is called "Suzume Miya", which is also an interesting name.

There were no commuters on the train anymore but the LRT car was empty after 11 o'clock. The three-car train easily overcomes quite steep grades.

On the way, we crossed the Kinugawa River I could see anglers enjoying themselves in the river.

On the way back, I had dumplings in front of the station.

June 2 (Sun) Partly cloudy, then rainy

The temperature in the morning was barely enough to keep Nantes in the 20s, but the weather was impure even though it was already June.

Today is a practice day for the table tennis club. At this time of year, I usually go out in uniform, but I have one.

There were 14 participants, and today's practitioners had to secure 7 table tennis tables. The gymnasium reception lobby is packed with more than 30 sports enthusiasts.

However, half of the badminton and table tennis were all practiced in the same space, but in badminton, 70% of the players were drawn by lottery, and the practice was held two hours later, which I felt was unreasonable.

Today is the third time I have participated in club practice since the end of the ski season. Until now, we had never been able to win a single set in a practice match.

I was able to get a memorable set today. A female club member with a gentle personality gave me a gift. Thank you, Hina.

Finally, next week, a friend of mine who lives in the United States will come to Japan. It is said that he will visit our house on that day.

I promised to pick you up at Kawaguchi Station immediately, but it was very different from the past, and I contacted you by e-mail with the details.

  June 1 (Sat) Sunny

I came back from the mountains yesterday and I'm pretty tired. I didn't set an alarm and went to bed early.

I woke up quietly on a cloudy morning, about 15 minutes later than my usual alarm.

It was a calm breakfast in the living room for the first time in a long time with radish miso soup and grilled fish with shishamo and cabbage with salt kelp.

By the time we finished cleaning up, the weather, which had tended to be cloudy, began to clear up. I put a little firewood that I brought with me before it got too hot and put it on the drying shelf. The leftover firewood from the previous period will eventually be moved closer to the pottery kiln.

I wondered if it would be a hot day at this minute, but today's wind was a northerly wind and a refreshing dry cold, so I was able to spend a pleasant time.

I thought it would be nice to take a walk in the evening while the sun was still high.., so I went out the front door, and it was exactly 4 o'clock when the timer was automatically watering.
