My interests mainly face subduction zone tectonics, especially on accretion processes of oceanic rocks, tectonic erosion mechanism, exhumation style of high-P/T accretionary complex, and driving factors for temporal change of subduction zone tectonics. These subjects are approached via field mapping and tectonostratigraphic analysis combined with radiolarian biochronology, structural geology, and igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary petrology. Many of my researches have done in the Cretaceous subduction system (accretionary complex, forearc basin, and blueschist terrane) in central Hokkaido, Japan. Also done are submarine geology and metamorphic petrology of serpentinite-eclogite complex in Izu-Bonin arc.
