Note
This K & E's 8 inch Roylance Electrical rule is unique
in several ways. It does not have Dynamo/ Motor efficiency scalse
which are commonly found in European and Japanese Electro rules. Instead,
it has gauge mark for Horse power - KW conversion.
The most unique feature of this rule would be ability to compute
weight, cross section and resistance value of a cupper wire of a
given wire gauge. Ability to work out
a solution from the wire gauge must have been an advantage. With
the other types of Electro rules you could compute Volts, but you
needed to figure out the cross section of a wire before you started.
The temperature scale which is used to compute electrical resistance
is neatly done by sharing gradings with B scale between 9.6 and
20. I wonder how this is possible?
