Aurora Trip (3)

[Home]   [Gallery]

November 2004 at Fairbanks, Alaska; I was very lucky. Out of three nights, I was able to see aurora only one night. The aurora appeared first on Northern sky and then moved South on top of us. It then expanded to cover all the skies, undurating and changing shapes. I was flustrated because I could not watch aurora while I was working with the camera. This was the best aurora I've ever seen.

Photo Data: Camera = Nikon FM10, Lens= Sigma 20mm f1.8/ Zenitar 16mm f2.8, Exposure = 5 - 15 Sec, Film = Fuji Venus 800

Chena Hot Spring Resort

Chena Hot Spring Resort is at about 1 and half hours east of Fairbanks by car. This is the perfect aurora watch site because you can observe the sky at just a few steps away from your lodge. It also features indoor and outdoor hot spring pools.
