Background

Hussein ZANATY

　Over 30 years’ experience in social activity and cross culture educational development in Egypt and Japan, I have extensive experience working with children, teachers, parents and elderly. In my youth age, as a representative of the Egyptian delegation of Red crescent organization in Germany 1989 and Spain 1992, I developed self-esteem, teamwork achievement . I was nominated as one of the outstanding social motivator in EXPO 1992. In Japan, as active promoter, I established intercultural contacts between Japan and Egypt. The first Park Golf Course has been established in my hometown, serving Upper Egyptian society (the elderly, housewives and youth).

　During the last 18 years, I have had a variety of experiences with Japanese social communities and wide array of cross culture educational development. As an ALT (Assistant Language Teacher) by Kitami Board of Education, I planned a sister school program between two elementary schools in Japan and Egypt with the support of local teachers. With the generosity of the Japanese around me, I acquired many useful skills that have helped me understand their culture and become more aware of my own culture. This encouraged me to think of engaging international kids in bilingual activity. I started to compose the first Japanese- Arabic peace song titled in “Friends”.

　With the great support of Japanese friends around me, we enjoyed making the “Friends” song. The goal of the song is to connect international kids in harmony and peace. The lyrics illustrate a peaceful garden which has strong insects and animals in a harmony with weak ones. Funny and cute illustrated creations do funny action in happy and peaceful environment. I hope the “Friends” song contribute more of peace and harmony between all kids all over the world.
