当 軍楽隊 の 起源は 1845年 創設の 陸軍 第４歩兵連隊 軍楽隊で 1946年の
モンテレイの戦いで 当軍楽隊 の 隊員の多くが 参戦し メキシコ軍と 勇敢に 戦った。 爾来 軍楽隊員であっても 戦時には 前線 の兵士として戦う
伝統を受け継いでいる。 第２次 世界大戦後は 陸軍 214 軍楽隊 として
活動、その後 1985年 から 現在の The Army Ground Forces Band
となり ノ−スカロライナ州 の ブラッグ砦を 駐屯地 としている。
