Rained at 7:30 AM and the skies were quite gloomy. Temperature was from 20-22 degrees, wind from the north and northeast was variable from 11 to 36 KPH, humidity from 80-90 % . There were intermittent rains and showers and very gusty winds at times.

He said since March 1, he has seen an average of 50 GFBs everyday. From the other side of the field, some GHBs took flight from the top of coconut trees. We went inside the forest to try to see where they were perched but didn't see them. Jerry said there were hunters who were shooting the GFBs.

Low cloud, drizzle, strong wind, cold and raining. The weather slowly cleared over the coast, but stayed socked-in over the hills behind. By 1000hrs is was clear enough to start scanning. A single male CS crossed at eye-level, flying west to east against the strong wind. This was followed by another, somewhat higher but heading in the same direction.

The fog rolled away and visibility improved at 8:45. All though our counting period, which ended at 2:10 pm, cloud cover ranged between 30% to 80%. Winds ranged from 5 km per hour to 19 km per hour. Temperatures measured between 23 to 26 degree Celsius.
1) 1 individual - "enigmatic Huge Black Eagle." This individual was in flight, mostly soaring on long and straight wings held level to the body and with primary tips stretched and upcurled. Upperparts were dark overall (darker than Grey faced Buzzard). Group did not get clear view of underparts. Wingspan was bigger than GFB. No calls heard.
2) 2 individuals were seen together. About one-third bigger than GFB. Dark overall (darker than GFB and Philippine Serpent Eagle). Base of secondaries show a paler brown that contrasts with the mostly dark brown underwing.

Hot, clear, moderate easterly wind. I was actually on the balcony of a friend's house about half-way up. It has a great view due west, of around 200 degrees, from the top of the mountains down to the Verde Island Passage. Observations
The wind was still coming from the east at between 12-28 Kms per hour, the atmospheric pressure was steady at 940 hPa, and the temperature was between 27 and 29 degrees centigrade. Cloud cover was 15% at the start and increasing to 75% but they were all cotton-ball cumulous!
